You’re confused because you’re stuck more on continuity rather than what the word of God says. Forget your continuity and just read the Bible. Do you really believe that in Galatians 6:16, 3 verses before the end of Paul’s epistle - even after he wrote the words, “see what large letters I have written to you with my own hand”, that Paul was introducing a doctrine so important that you now believe the words Israel of God mean the church? After all of the mysteries that Paul reveals in his letters this would have been the biggest mystery of all yet Paul uses the words Israel of God after he mentions how big his handwriting is. Come on! The Israel of God is simply those Jews who believe by faith in God’s word just as Abraham did contrary to Israel of the flesh. Stop falling for covenant theologians who are simply grasping at this verse in order to prove their theology because they have nothing else to hold onto. They bend the word of God in order to support their theology.

While my lack of formal education often require me to Google the terms they are using in their discussion, their views and shared resources on scripture and the church have helped reshape many of the unbiblical beliefs I held.
