Has the Church Lost its Mission? | Theo-Logically Speaking

Has the Church lost its mission—or have we simply lost sight of what Jesus called us to do? In an age of growing congregations, expanding technology, celebrity pastors, and increasingly sophisticated church programs, one critical question remains: Are we truly fulfilling the mission of Jesus Christ? In this compelling episode of Theo-Logically Speaking, Rev. Dr. Marlon A. Moss, Jr., Th.D., D.Min., takes an honest, biblical, and thought-provoking look at the purpose of the Church and whether modern Christianity has drifted from its original calling. Drawing from Matthew 28:18–20, Acts 2:42–47, and other foundational Scriptures, we explore the difference between building successful religious institutions and making genuine disciples of Jesus Christ. In this episode, we examine: The original mission Jesus entrusted to His Church. The difference between church growth and spiritual transformation.Whether entertainment, politics, traditions, and institutional survival have distracted us from the Great Commission. Why evangelism, discipleship, compassion, and community engagement must remain central to Christian ministry. How pastors, ministry leaders, and everyday believers can help refocus the Church on its God-given purpose. The central challenge: Are we building bigger churches, or are we making stronger disciples? This conversation is not about condemning the Church. It is about calling the Church back to its biblical identity, spiritual responsibility, and transforming mission. Reflection Question: If Jesus evaluated our churches today, would He recognize His mission in our priorities? Join the conversation, share your perspective in the comments, and invite someone who cares about the future of the Church to listen. Who Can Tell You No? The Danger of Living Without Accountability | Still Growing — Week 3

Who Can Tell You No? The Danger of Living Without Accountability | Still Growing — Week 3 In the final episode of the Still Growing series, Dr. Marlon A. Moss, Jr. asks a challenging question: Who in your life can tell you no? Spiritual maturity requires more than being teachable and correctable. It also requires accountability. Proverbs 11:14 teaches us that without wise guidance, people fall. Yet experience, influence, leadership, success, and titles can sometimes create environments where everyone agrees with us—and no one feels free to challenge us. In this episode, we explore: • Why every believer and leader needs accountability• The danger of surrounding yourself only with people who agree with you• How unchecked authority can become destructive• Why wise counsel is a form of protection• What happens when nobody is allowed to challenge us• Biblical examples of leaders who needed correction• How humility creates room for trusted voices David needed Nathan. Peter was confronted by Paul. Scripture repeatedly reminds us that spiritual maturity does not place us above accountability. The question is not simply, “Who listens to me?” The deeper question is: “Who am I willing to listen to?” Stay teachable.Stay correctable.Stay accountable.Keep growing. 📖 Main Scripture: Proverbs 11:14 Additional Scriptures: Proverbs 12:15; Proverbs 15:22; Proverbs 27:17; 2 Samuel 12:1–13; Galatians 2:11–14; Ecclesiastes 4:9–10 🎙️ Theo-Logically SpeakingStill Growing — Teachable. Correctable. Accountable.
