Episode 193 - Finding My Birth Mother Didn't Fix Everything: Rebekah Heslop, Part 1

In this episode - the first we are releasing from our South Island recording series - I sit down with Rebekah Heslop to hear her story. Rebekah was adopted at just 10 days old, she shared with us the internal feeling of rejection that followed her into adulthood, and into her radical return to Christ. Even though Rebekah always knew she was adopted, loved and cherished by her adopted parents, she shares how she quietly wrestled with feelings of rejection and a deep curiosity about her birth parents. Eventually, she decided to search for them, hoping it might bring some of the answers she had been looking for. But, finding her birth mother didn't fix everything. We talk about the reality of navigating that relationship, the season where she lost her way, searching for answers through a psychic, and how God radically changed her life. Rebekah's story is honest, vulnerable, and such a beautiful reminder that while people can't always give us the answers we're looking for, our identity and healing are ultimately found in Christ. Episode 190 - Woman in Ministry and Biblical Balance: Phylicia Masonheimer

In this episode of Outside of Sunday, we sit down with Phylicia Masonheimer, founder of Every Woman a Theologian, for an honest and thought-provoking conversation about faith and what it means to be a woman passionate about ministry. Phylicia shares her powerful testimony - from growing up in a Christian home to walking through a hidden addiction at a young age, and ultimately finding true freedom in Christ. From there, the conversation opens up into the bigger questions many Christian women wrestle with: What is my role? Where do I fit? And how do I follow Scripture faithfully without losing the heart God has given me? We unpack the tension many women feel around ministry, what the Bible actually says, where confusion can creep in, and why theology isn’t just for a select few. We also explore the balance of Spirit and Truth, the beauty of God’s design for men and women, and why women aren’t “less than” - but uniquely called.
