    Episode 4- Benjamin Way

    Ben Way likes warm hugs and to make people angry for no good reason. And challenging authority. Of drill sergeants. Of school officials. And of anyone who will listen.  And he's a Momma's boy. He's smart, beautiful, and has a haircut that my children shall never be allowed to own. And. This was probably the closets I'll ever come to being able to check in on my 23 year old self's brain, which means finding someone who is just like me... and I'm glad Ben gave me the ability to say hello to that Lad... And maybe I've not owned my mistakes as much as him, but we sure had a fun time going over them… He’s a controversial figure in our small world, but as much as I was ready to call him out for being a (insert your favorite cancel culture adjective here), I adore how much he has grown, and what will become of him next. Also he serves our country in the National Guard. So form your own judgment, but just respect the process. We talk about how it is probably not a good idea to embellish Nazi regalia, hiding LITERAL skeletons in you walls, and how he’s so proud to have his Dad back as his Dad again.  And we drink a bit of Jefferson Reserve bourbon. We also shotgunned a Bud Light if you must know…

    Episode 3- Ricky Mallari

    Ricky Mallari is the strong, silent type... Actually very strong and even more silent. He looks like a linebacker but spent his weekends playing in chess tournaments instead of on the field. We talk about how as a child, his mother (lovingly) abducted him from America and sent him halfway around the world with a stranger for less than the cost of  dinner for 4 at the Olive Garden. And how his family had to fight to steal him back (no breadsticks needed). We discuss how growing up, one of the best things that ever happend to him was having "The Dude" instead of simply "a dad". We enjoy a glass or two of McKenna bourbon and evetally meander to talking about what its like serving a  tour during the war in Afganistan as an Army combat medic.

    Episode 2- Dr. Bryan Neumann

    Bryan Neumann speaks kindly to strangers, brews his own beer, shares said beer openly, and once worked at Home Depot... He also has BS in foresnic science, biology, and biotechnology from the University of New Haven, a PhD in biochemistry & cell biology from Dartmouth, and will be a postdoctoral scholar at the University of California Irvine studying human voltage-gated sodium channels using signal particle cryogenic electron microscopy starting this fall. We talk about the great study habit that helped him get through his undergrad, a crazy little thing called COVID, and how he overcame the tragic loss of his Dad at thirteen years old... literally right in front of his own eyes.  We enjoyed a fine glass of Eagle Rare as well as Bryan's very own bourbon barrel stout.

    Episode 1 - Anthony Athanas

    Anthony "Cupcake" Athanas is what people will often refer to as a "Fireman's Fireman", he's straight up, honest, and to the point. If there was one last warm, s****y beer left in the fridge, he would literally arm wrestle a lion if he thought you deserved that beer, and the lion was stealing it from you.   Once he grew up, he joined the family business. A fireman. (not lion wrestling.) We talk about growing up with a dad whom has been one of the most skilled, respected and famous of all firemen over the last 50 years in this country, finding his own direction under that weight, and how far you will go to prove yourself different from someone who you know, is just like... you. Also we drink a little bit of Woodford Reserve Weated Whiskey.
