Biblical Wisdom and the Fear of the Lord: Hebrew Insights with Jeff Dodson - Episode 268

In Episode 268 of the Bible Mysteries Podcast, Scott Mitchell is joined once again by our friend and brother in Christ, Jeff Dodson, for a focused discussion on biblical wisdom and its meaning in the Old Testament. This episode continues the broader study of the foundational elements of faith—worship, knowledge, wisdom, and prayer—with special attention given to wisdom as revealed through the Hebrew language. Jeff explains the Hebrew word chokmah and contrasts God-given wisdom with human reasoning, showing how Scripture consistently ties wisdom to the heart and to the fear of the Lord. Scott and Jeff also discuss the importance of studying ancient Hebrew rather than modern forms, the role of historical Jewish writings in understanding language and culture, and why Scripture cautions against confusing knowledge with wisdom. The conversation emphasizes that true wisdom is shaped through reverence for God, obedience to His Word, and a willingness to walk the old paths rather than follow modern distractions. Listeners will also hear insights into hidden literary structures in Scripture, including Hebrew acrostics found in passages such as Proverbs 31 and Psalm 119, revealing intentional design and order embedded within God’s Word. This episode offers encouragement for believers seeking clarity, discernment, and spiritual maturity in an age of constant information and distraction. Key Scriptures referenced include: Proverbs 1:7, Psalm 90:12, Psalm 119, Proverbs 31 Topics covered include: The Hebrew meaning of wisdom (chokmah) Wisdom versus human cleverness Why the fear of the Lord is the foundation of wisdom Ancient Hebrew and biblical interpretation Hidden acrostic structures in Scripture Technology, culture, and their effect on discernment Building a stable spiritual foundation rooted in God’s Word Bible Mysteries is an educational ministry podcast exposing the ancient spiritual battle in the modern world. 3. Curiously Wrought in the Lowest Parts of the Earth | Psalm 139 Explained

Curiously Wrought in the Lowest Parts of the Earth | Psalm 139 Explained

Psalm 139 is often cited to affirm God’s intimate knowledge of life in the womb, and Scripture fully supports that truth. Yet the language of this Psalm points to something deeper—something the text itself invites us to examine more carefully. In this Bible study, the phrase “curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth” is examined in light of Scripture, not tradition. The Bible consistently uses the lower parts of the earth to describe the realm of death, not the womb. When Scripture is allowed to interpret Scripture, Psalm 139 emerges as a prophetic picture of Christ’s descent, His resurrection, and the forming of His body—the Church. Key Hebrew terms such as substance, curiously wrought, and yet being unperfect reveal a work of divine power and careful construction. The Psalm speaks of members written in God’s book before they were manifested, aligning with New Testament teaching on the body of Christ and the Book of Life. This study connects Psalm 139 with passages from Ephesians, Corinthians, Philippians, and Revelation to show how believers are joined together through the resurrection power of Christ. The Church is not an afterthought, nor a loose assembly, but a body formed through the faith of the operation of God. Psalm 139 does more than describe God’s knowledge—it declares His purpose. Key Scriptures (KJV): Psalm 139:1–24; Psalm 139:13–16 Ephesians 4:7–10 1 Corinthians 12:13–27 Philippians 3:21 2 Corinthians 5:1–9 Revelation 20:12, 15 Read the companion blog: Curiously Wrought and the Body of Christ https://www.biblemysteriespodcast.com/post/curiously-wrought-and-the-body-of-christ Downloadable Study Notes available for subscribers. 4. In the Stone: A Song That Accidentally Preached the Gospel - Episode 267

    JAN 19

In the Stone: A Song That Accidentally Preached the Gospel - Episode 267

Earth, Wind & Fire’s 1979 song In the Stone was never written to teach the Bible. Yet its lyrics echo truths that Scripture has already established—truths about love, light, strength, and permanence. God often leaves His mark where men never intend to place it. In this episode, Scott Mitchell examines the lyrics of In the Stone through the Word of God and shows how biblical truth is fixed, unchanging, and written in the stone—Jesus Christ, the chief cornerstone. Key Scriptures (KJV)  Psalm 118:21–24 1 John 4:7–11 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17 John 14:6–7 Matthew 21:42–44 John 1:1–4 John 1:9–13 Ephesians 6:10–13 Daniel 2:34–35 1 Corinthians 10:1–4 Hebrews 13:5–6 Matthew 28:20 Daniel 2:44–45 Exodus 12:12 Exodus 3:13–14 All Scripture quotations are from the King James Version. Word Study: “Stone” Hebrew: אֶבֶן (eben) — “stone” Meaning includes: Common stone, precious stone, memorial stone Tool, weapon, weight, or plummet Sacred marker of God’s help and presence Contained in eben are two words: אָב (ab) — Father בֵּן (ben) — Son Father and Son are found in the word “stone.” Jesus Christ is the chief cornerstone, and He and the Father are one. Song Focus “In the Stone” Written by Allee Willis, David Foster, Maurice White Lyrics examined in light of Scripture include: “Love is written in the stone” “Truth is written in the stone” “The light is shining” “Strength is written in the stone” “Never you’ll be alone” Though written as a dance song, its words echo biblical truths about Christ as: The Light of the world The Rock of salvation The Cornerstone rejected and exalted The One who never leaves His people Teaching Highlights Truth is not shaped by culture—it is fixed by God. Jesus is the stone the builders rejected, now the cornerstone. The Light that shines is not philosophy—it is Christ. Strength comes from the Lord, not self. God’s promises are permanent and unchanging. Daniel’s stone cut without hands points to Christ’s coming Kingdom. No one stands neutral before the Stone—you either stand on Him or fall against Him. But God does not need permission to leave His fingerprint on human creativity. The song In the Stone speaks of love, truth, light, strength, and permanence—realities that belong fully to Jesus Christ. Christ is the Stone. He is the Cornerstone. He is the Rock of salvation. Truth does not change. Truth does not bend. 5. Receive the Congregation: Psalm 75 and the Hidden Pattern of the Rapture

    JAN 18 · BONUS

Receive the Congregation: Psalm 75 and the Hidden Pattern of the Rapture

Lesson Focus Psalm 75 contains a statement that changes the entire timeline of judgment: “When I shall receive the congregation I will judge uprightly.” (Psalm 75:2 KJV) God does not begin judgment until He first “receives the congregation.” This lesson examines what that phrase means through Hebrew word study, Old Testament patterns, and New Testament doctrine—showing that Scripture consistently places the gathering of the Body of Christ before the outpouring of God’s wrath. Key Scriptures (KJV)  Psalm 75:1–10 Genesis 1:14–16 Genesis 18:14 Exodus 23:15 Exodus 29:44 Genesis 5:24 Isaiah 26:20–21 1 Thessalonians 1:10 Romans 5:8–9 2 Corinthians 12:2–4 1 Thessalonians 4:13–18 1 Peter 1:4–9 Revelation 12:13–17 Revelation 7:9–14 Word Studies Congregation – מוֹעֵד / מוֹעָדָה (moed / moadah) Meaning: Appointed time Fixed season Assembly Solemn feast Set gathering First appears in Genesis 1:14 referring to God’s appointed seasons. It is later used for feast days and divine appointments between God and His people. Receive – לָקַח (laqach) Meaning: To take To carry away To seize To receive To take up Used of Enoch in Genesis 5:24—God “took” him before judgment came on the world. Teaching Points 1. Judgment Waits for the Congregation Psalm 75 shows a clear order: God receives the congregation Then He judges uprightly Then the wicked are cut off Then the righteous are exalted Judgment does not begin until the congregation is taken. 2. God Works by Appointed Times The word “moed” ties God’s actions to fixed divine appointments: Creation (Genesis 1:14) Abraham (Genesis 18:14) Israel’s feasts (Exodus 23:15) God’s dwelling with His people (Exodus 29:44) The gathering of the Body of Christ will also occur at an appointed time. 3. Taken Before Wrath Enoch was taken before the flood Believers are delivered from wrath (1 Thessalonians 1:10; Romans 5:9) God hides His people until indignation passes (Isaiah 26:20–21) The pattern is removal before judgment, not survival through it. 4. Paul Defines the Gathering 1 Thessalonians 4:13–18 describes the catching away of the Body of Christ: Dead in Christ rise first Living believers are caught up All meet the Lord in the air This is meant for comfort There is no comfort in enduring God’s wrath. 5. The Church and Israel Are Not the Same The Church has a heavenly inheritance (1 Peter 1:4) Israel faces Jacob’s trouble on earth Revelation shows Israel on earth while a great multitude is already in heaven God does not mix programs or promises Distinctions That Must Be Kept Rapture ≠ Second Coming Church ≠ Israel Grace program ≠ Kingdom program Salvation now ≠ Endurance later Rightly dividing the word of truth keeps these from being confused. Core Message Psalm 75 is not vague. It gives sequence: God receives His congregation Then judgment begins This matches: Enoch’s removal before the flood Isaiah’s promise of hiding before wrath Paul’s teaching of being caught up Deliverance from wrath, not through it Closing Truth  Salvation is already finished at the cross. The Body of Christ is not appointed to wrath. God will receive His congregation before judgment begins. We return with Christ to reign with Him in glory. That is not tradition. That is the pattern of Scripture. 6. The Kings of the Earth Part 2: Hidden Rulers, Wealth, and the Rise of the Antichrist - Episode 266

    JAN 12

The Kings of the Earth Part 2: Hidden Rulers, Wealth, and the Rise of the Antichrist - Episode 266

In Part 2 of The Kings of the Earth, Scott and John continue their biblical examination of the hidden power structures shaping the modern world. Scripture reveals that true authority does not begin in politics but in the spiritual realm, where unseen powers influence earthly rulers. The Bible describes “the kings of the earth” as leaders who set themselves against God and His Christ. These rulers are driven by wealth, land, and power, seeking control of the world’s systems in preparation for the rise of the Man of Sin. Through financial dominance and real-estate control, they prepare to hand authority to the Antichrist. This episode connects prophetic Scripture with present-day realities, exposing how fallen angels manipulate human leaders and how spiritual warfare shapes global events. In This Episode: The biblical meaning of “the kings of the earth” How wealth and land ownership become tools of domination The spiritual forces operating behind world governments Why political change alone cannot fix a spiritual problem The connection between financial control and the Antichrist Fallen angels and their influence on earthly kingdoms Why rulers seek immortality through technology and genetics The coming judgment of the kings of the earth God’s final offer of mercy before Christ returns Scriptures Used (KJV): Psalm 2; Micah 1–2; Luke 4:5–8; Luke 17:21–30; Revelation 17; Psalm 75; Psalm 94; Matthew 23; Daniel 10; Jeremiah 28; Psalm 102; Isaiah 61; Psalm 72; James 5; 1 Timothy 6; Revelation 14; Ephesians 6 Key Themes: Earthly kingdoms are influenced by spiritual powers Wealth is used as a weapon to control nations The kings of the earth will surrender power to the beast Pride and the pursuit of glory mirror Lucifer’s fall Christ will overthrow every corrupt throne Final Word: Downloadable Study Notes The kings of the earth believe they are building a lasting empire, but Scripture declares their rule is temporary. Their power will be taken, their systems will fall, and Christ will reign over all nations. This episode is a warning to rulers—and a reminder to believers—that no throne stands above the throne of Jesus Christ. Acknowledge the Lord in All Thy Ways | Trusting God for a Closer Walk

In this lesson from Unlock the Bible Now, Brother Scott Mitchell teaches from Proverbs 3:5–6, showing what it truly means to acknowledge the Lord in every part of life. Using the Hebrew word yâda‛—translated “acknowledge”—he explains that God is not calling for casual recognition, but for relational knowing marked by awareness, trust, and daily dependence. This message traces the struggle between trusting God’s wisdom and leaning on human understanding, beginning in Genesis and continuing throughout Scripture. Brother Scott shows how choosing God’s way is choosing life, while man’s way leads to death. He connects this truth to Paul’s desire to “know” Christ, not as information, but as living fellowship. Listeners are encouraged to move beyond acknowledging God only in church, crisis, or ministry, and instead to live with constant awareness of His presence—at work, at rest, in joy, and in hardship. The lesson also explains what it means to be filled with the Spirit, emphasizing gratitude, prayer, worship, and letting the peace of God rule in the heart. This teaching calls believers to choose life by acknowledging the Lord in all their ways, trusting Him daily, and walking in close communion with Christ. Key Scriptures (KJV): Proverbs 3:5–7 Genesis 3:5, 22–24 Deuteronomy 30:19 Proverbs 14:12; 16:25 Genesis 4:1 Philippians 3:8–11 Matthew 28:18–20 Ephesians 5:15–21 Philippians 4:4–9 Colossians 3:15–17 1 Peter 3:15 Main Themes: What it means to acknowledge the Lord Trusting God instead of human understanding Choosing life by choosing God’s way Knowing Christ through daily fellowship Being filled with the Spirit through gratitude and prayer Walking with God in every moment of life Read the companion blog: Acknowledge the Lord in All Thy Ways https://www.biblemysteriespodcast.com/post/acknowledge-the-lord-in-all-thy-ways Downloadable Study Notes for our Subscribers. 8. The Kings of the Earth: From Molech to Modern Elites — A Biblical Warning (Part 1) - Episode 265

    JAN 5

The Kings of the Earth: From Molech to Modern Elites — A Biblical Warning (Part 1) - Episode 265

Who are the kings of the earth, and why do they consistently oppose the Lord and His Christ? Scripture makes it clear that these rulers—both seen and unseen—are united in rebellion against God, convinced they will never be held accountable for their actions. In this episode, Scott Mitchell and John Potts begin a biblical examination of the kings of the earth as revealed throughout Scripture. From Psalm 2 to Revelation, the Bible describes a coordinated resistance to God’s authority involving earthly rulers, spiritual powers, and ancient false gods that demanded allegiance and sacrifice. The discussion traces the meaning of “king” in Scripture, connecting ancient figures such as Molech and Milcom to the broader biblical pattern of dominion, idolatry, and spiritual rebellion. The hosts also examine how pride, deception, and the pursuit of power define these kings, culminating in their final confrontation with Jesus Christ. While Scripture delivers a firm warning of coming judgment, it also extends a final call to repentance. Even the kings of the earth are not beyond redemption—yet their time is short. Key Topics Discussed The biblical definition of the “kings of the earth” Psalm 2 and the coordinated rebellion against the Lord The meaning of melek (king) in Hebrew Scripture Molech and Milcom as ancient “kings” and false gods Spiritual rulers working through earthly systems Pride, power, and the illusion of unaccountable rule God’s promised judgment on rebellious kings Christ’s ultimate victory as King of kings A final call to repentance before the Day of the Lord Scripture References (KJV) Psalm 2:1–12 Acts 4:19–28 Zephaniah 1:2–6 Amos 5:26–27 Psalm 62:4 Psalm 52:1–7 Psalm 64:1–10 John 15:18–19 Luke 21:24 Jeremiah 28:14 Isaiah 13:9–13 Revelation 17:10–18 Revelation 19:11–21 Psalm 72:8–15 Ephesians 5:11–15 Ezekiel 33:11 1 Timothy 2:1–6 Word Study King – מֶלֶךְ (meh’-lek) Meaning: king, ruler, one who exercises dominion Molech – “king” Milcom – “great king” False gods associated with dominion, idolatry, and sacrifice Conclusion  The kings of the earth—ancient and modern—are warned directly by Scripture. Their power is temporary. Their rebellion is recorded. Their judgment is certain. Yet, until the final moment, the door to repentance remains open. Kiss the Son… for the King is coming.  Bible Mysteries is an educational ministry podcast exposing the ancient spiritual battle in the modern world.
