Staying Centred: Rooted at the centre of the cyclone

Staying Centred: Rooted at the centre of the cyclone

Welcome back to the Soul Surgery podcast. This week is a solo episode where I talk about ways in which we can stay centred.

Here in New Zealand we have been in lockdown for the past 10 weeks and increasingly we are being subjected to a lot of intense measures of control. The purpose of this episode is not to be political or to take sides, rather it is to share how this has impacted me and the process I have been through in order to be responsible for everything this has brought up.

I share about how, when we find ourselves in the centre of a storm, we cannot only find our centre, but stay centred. How we can stay connected and rooted in our truth despite all the noise and chaos raging around us. This is a fundamental practice for your life, but especially now as we navigate a huge paradigm shift.

Make sure to share your biggest takeaways and aha moments in the comments.

    Episode Highlights:

    · When we stay in our power, we have the ability to make conscious choices rather than choosing from a place of fear and terror.

    · Listening is not hearing the noise in your mind or projecting what you think you already know. To listen deeply to life, we cannot already know what is coming next.

    · We cannot respond differently in challenging situations if we are not conscious that something from our past is being activated.

    · Consciousness requires you to lean into the experience as it moves through you and taking full self-responsibility for it.

    · If you can surrender the resistance, the fight and the running away from your human experience even though it is painful, it will begin to dissolve.

    · Every single one of us has the power to find the stillness within the storm of our experience.

If you too feel ready to re-create your relationships or your life by breaking free of old patterns on a holistic level, across mind, body and soul, I invite you to order my book SURRENDER.

SURRENDER will walk you through a life changing process of maturation. Of breaking free of the vicious cycle of repeated stuck patterns, stories and belief systems, trauma and ancestral wounds.

It’s more than just a book. It’s a guide through a deep healing journey of SURRENDERING of who you are NOT so that you can unfurl into who you were BORN TO BE.

Surrendering to the deep feminine and letting go of the old with Koya Webb

Surrendering to the deep feminine and letting go of the old with Koya Webb

Welcome back to the Soul Surgery podcast.

We return with another episode of our Surrender series where I dive deeply into my guests’ greatest points of surrender.

This week I am joined by the wonderful Koya Webb. Koya is an internationally recognised yoga teacher, celebrity holistic health coach, author, speaker and vegan activist. Her core mission is to promote daily self-care, oneness and eco-friendly living. She is a force for love and healing.

In this episode we talk about surrendering into the feminine – coming out of the place of knowing and into a place of listening. This is a powerful discussion for all beings, showing how we can come to a place of feeling, softness and nurturing.

Koya shares how in the process of writing her book to share what she had learned with her readers, she was gifted with the opportunity to really learn the lessons she needed to in order to heal at the deepest level. It was an invitation for her to surrender even further into the feminine and find her true power.

    Episode Highlights:

    · We are being invited to step out of our knowing and our survival into a space of feeling and vulnerability.

    · We are the solution and the key to our own healing.

    · We are all in a constant cycle of shedding the old so we can birth the new, we can’t hold onto the way things were as they are in a constant state of change.

    · We hold onto the past because it is painful to transition into someone new, but when we acknowledge and can go through that pain and fear we open ourselves to love, growth and expansion.

    · Being willing to be vulnerable and open up about our fears and struggles we invite others to do the same. This is where we can connect and create space for collective healing.

If you too feel ready to re-create your relationships or your life by breaking free of old patterns on a holistic level, across mind, body and soul, I invite you to order my book SURRENDER.

Learning to receive what I said I wanted with Emma Mumford

Learning to receive what I said I wanted with Emma Mumford

Welcome to another episode of the Soul Surgery podcast and our Surrender series where I dive deeply into my guests’ greatest points of surrender.

This week I am joined by the wonderful Emma Mumford. Emma is an award-winning life coach and mentor, bestselling author, speaker and the UK’s leading Law of Attraction expert.

In this episode Emma shares how at her lowest point, when she was suffering from depression, in debt and coming out of a bad relationship, she had a spiritual awakening where she realised she needed to surrender the control she felt was necessary in all aspects of her life. This pivotal moment led her to realise the patterns that had been living her life and keeping her stuck. It was also the point where she discovered the power of manifestation.

We discuss how much as human beings we can push away the very things we want the most if they don’t fit in with the stories we tell ourselves about who we are and what we are capable of in our lives. But when we can begin to relinquish the control we seek to have over our lives we can begin to heal what we have been resisting all along.

Make sure to share your biggest takeaways and aha moments in the comments.

    Episode Highlights:

    · We all experience repeating patterns throughout our lives and often we identify with them to the extent that we believe this is who we really are.

    · The work to overcome these patterns involves seeing where in our past we have made decisions that helped us to survive difficult, painful or confusing experiences. These decisions create the story of what is possible and available to us.

    · Sometimes getting the things we want feels like the hardest thing for us to accept because it doesn’t fit into these stories.

    · To truly live an aligned and authentic life we need to see beyond these stories and learn to trust.

    · The key is in allowing ourselves to feel everything we have been resisting.

Surrendering the masks and healing codependency with Emmy Brunner

Surrendering the masks and healing codependency with Emmy Brunner

Welcome to another episode of the Soul Surgery podcast and our Surrender series where I dive deeply into my guests’ greatest points of surrender.

This week I am joined by the wonderful Emmy Brunner. Emmy is a Personal Empowerment and Transformation Coach, Psychotherapist, Hypnotherapist, CEO of The Recover Clinic, Author and Speaker. Her work focuses on dynamic and ambitious women and inspiring them to reconnect to their true selves.

In this episode Emmy talks about growing up in a family dynamic that meant she found her role as a healer or fixer. In line with this she trained as a psychotherapist, but her experience was that her clinical training didn’t really give her the tools to create real shifts for her clients. It was only when she continued to do the work on herself and saw how much of a role people’s reactions to trauma and the stories they subsequently created were fuelling their struggles that true healing became possible.

Emmy reached the point where she was tired of fighting to survive and realised that she needed to let go and surrender. When we resist what is and try to avoid the pain of our realities, we actually cement them even further. By surrendering we create the opportunity for a new possibility to unfurl.

Make sure to share your biggest takeaways and aha moments in the comments.

    Episode Highlights:

    · Although as humans we can be very different, beneath the surface we all have the same struggles, the same feelings and the same needs. We’ve all just been trying to survive.

    · We all have 3 versions of ourselves: the one we want to project to the world, the one we don’t want anyone to see and the one we truly are beyond all of the stories.

    · When we realise how much we share with others it can heal our feelings of loneliness and isolation.

    · In the moment we say no more to something in our lives that has not been serving us, we simultaneously are saying yes to something else. These are pivotal moments when we step outside of our survival patterns.

    · As we become more conscious we are able to listen beyond the noise of our minds and tune into a deeper knowing. When you can trust and be with yourself you can birth a completely new way of being.

Letting go of pictures and surrendering to peace with Poppy Jamie

Letting go of pictures and surrendering to peace with Poppy Jamie

Welcome to another episode of the Soul Surgery podcast and our Surrender series where I dive deeply into my guests’ greatest points of surrender.

This week I am joined by the lovely Poppy Jamie. Poppy is one of Forbes’ 30 under 30, UN Global Goals advocate, British wellness entrepreneur, TV host and author of the book ‘Happy Not Perfect: Upgrade Your Mind, Change Your Thoughts and Free Yourself From Anxiety’. She is the founder of the award winning Happy Not Perfect mindset app and host of the Not Perfect podcast.

Poppy’s mission is to empower people to look after their minds and health.

In this episode Poppy talks about how her inability to surrender and the longing to hold on and control so many aspects of her life caused her to have a physical and mental breakdown. Poppy shares with us how she thought that to surrender meant to give up but realised it is in fact the opposite.

In this conversation Poppy tells her story of becoming addicted to working and the drive behind the need to work. Poppy thought that working was the solution to her problems and that by working hard she would get what she wanted. It was only once she was able to surrender and let go of the ideals in her mind that she entered a state of bliss.

Make sure to share your biggest takeaways and aha moments in the comments.

    Episode Highlights

    · We are programmed from an early age to believe the more we achieve and push ourselves and the more control we have, will result in us ‘doing better’ or ‘getting more’ but ultimately, it just creates more suffering in our lives.

    · We can never have enough of what we never really wanted. The things we strive for, like working hard, will never give us what we really want which is why it will never be enough.

    · We get born into a world that doesn’t educate us in self-trust and self-acceptance, instead we are taught that we need to keep on bettering ourselves.

    · When we are holding on so tightly to the pictures of what it is we think we want, it can block us from seeing other possibilities.

    · We have to experience some pain to realise that what we’ve been doing isn’t going to give us what we want.

    · What’s meant for you will never pass you by.

If you too feel ready to re-create your relationships or your life by breaking free of old patterns on a holistic level, across mind, body and soul, I invite you to order my book SURRENDER.

How death transformed my relationship to life & immense possibility with Nathaniel Solace

How death transformed my relationship to life & immense possibility with Nathaniel Solace

Welcome to another episode of the Soul Surgery podcast and our Surrender series where I dive deeply into my guests’ greatest points of surrender.

This week I am joined by Nathaniel Solace. Nathaniel is a leadership coach and transformation coach and he is just a really wise and smart, powerful being. Nathaniel’s mission is ‘to bring simple, tangible and empowering methods to the masses for engaging with the most fundamental and fulfilling aspects of life so that every human can naturally live their greatest purpose’.

In this episode Nathaniel talks about how he surrendered to the cards he had been dealt and his commitment and dedication to his own maturation. Nathaniel shares his story of being adopted and the death of his mother and how the trauma he went through has made him the coach he is today.

In this conversation Nathaniel shares with me how he came to realise that the only thing he was afraid of was how uncomfortable he was in his body and that all healing is on the other side of being uncomfortable, which requires surrender.

Make sure to share your biggest takeaways and aha moments in the comments.

    Episode Highlights

    · Everything we live through can be an opportunity for us to be able to use it purposefully.

    · We are all in a process of growing, we are either stuck or we’re growing. It is human nature that we will find a way to grow.

    · In every single present moment we really don’t know what will be unfolding next. The thing that blocks us from the magic of that is the mind and the stories.

    · If you don’t have a relationship with death it impacts your relationship with life.

    · Childhood experiences shape the creation and birthing of the characters that become who we are.

    · To just be with ‘what is’ is the doorway to surrender.

    · Real freedom is to be human and to be able to be with our story but not have it live us.

If you too feel ready to re-create your relationships or your life by breaking free of old patterns on a holistic level, across mind, body and soul, I invite you to order my book SURRENDER.

Taking a journey to my true self

This episode was deeply moving and it’s true that sitting with Jaiya and listening to your conversation was soul stirring. By realizing the internalized oppression I had inside of myself and seeing how that was then manifested into other aspects of my life it was eye opening to say the least. Thank you Nicky and Jaiya.

purest of medicine

I bathed in the medicine of this episode tonight. Jaiya John’s words are a salve for the whole of us and a blessing for each of our ancestors. I felt deeply encouraged as a parent who works in partnership with my children to embrace their own innate sovereignty. Thank you Nicky for the beautiful flow of this interview and the space you gave for these words of wisdom and truth to wash over us. May all beings be touched by this episode.
