    What Are You Listening To: Chris Stapleton Today we are talking about Chris Stapleton A few months ago Chris Stapleton started releasing singles for his new record ‘starting over.’ It’s been 3 years since we’ve had a record from Chris. I had planned to release this Stapleton episode before it came out. I’m glad I waited. His new record is out and available everywhere. I must admit that at first I thought this was a bit of a mediocre release for him but after a few listens through, this may be my favorite Stapleton record. I’m going to give you my take on Chris Stapleton minus this new record and at the end I’ll share with you some of my favorites and highlights from ‘starting over’.

    What Are You Listening To: Ben Rector/Ingrid Michaelson ‘it would be you’

    Hello and welcome to what are you listening to. The show where we talk about good music or at least music we think is good. Today we are doing a short episode to talk about a single song. Ben Rector released a new single. It’s an acoustic version of his last single called ‘it would be you.’ Not only is this an acoustic version but it’s also a duet with Ingrid Michaelson. I’ve not yet done episodes on either of these artists. That’s certainly in the cards down the road. Rector released the original version of this song back towards the beginning of this pandemic. It’s about the world ending and all of us being stuck somewhere with just one person. It’s really a love song of sorts.

Eric has released a few singles from his upcoming record so I figured it’s a great time to talk about why you should listen. Eric is a modernHe makes his own rules and he doesn’t care who cares or doesn’t. I first heard him back in the early 2000’s with his first single ‘how bout you.’ He’s about to release a new record. Today we are talking about NEEDTOBREATHE NEEDTOBREATHE just released a brand new record called ‘out of body.’ Around the time they announced the record they also announced that founding member and brother to lead sing Bo Rinheart was leaving the band. Bo and Bear are brothers and started the band together. They both do the majority of the writing. So far this record is 100% NTB gold. Join me as I discuss all things NEEDTOBREATHE.

    What Are You Listening To: The Killers

    Welcome to ‘what are you listening to.’ The show where we talk about good music or at least music we think is good. Today we are talking about the killers. The killers just released a brand new album called ‘imploding the mirage’ - this thing is great! It’s a follow up to ‘wonderful wonderful’ which was also amazing. I heard them when they first came out in 2004 with mr Brightside. The sound was amazing. It was synth rock with come goth influence plus whatever dave was doing on guitar. You could hear Ronnie’s skills shining through from the first record (hot fuss). His drumming is passionate. I later rediscovered them through a coworker around their ‘day and age’ record. Each killers song tells such a massive story. Brandon as a frontman: live shows are incredible When Brandon sings, I believe him. Listen along to see where I recommend you start if you’ve never listened to their music.

    Hello and welcome to what are you listening to. The show where we talk about good music or at least music we think is good. On this show we dive into music. I’m a music lover and musician. I have been for my entire life. This podcast was birthed out of my love for sharing great music with my friends. I’ve always believed that when you have a little more insight to the music, it can have more meaning and weight. I’ll share with you some great artists and some known and not so well known info about them. I’ll recommend an artists and where to start if you’ve never heard them before.
