    4. The Big Gerb Episode

    It's been nearly 5 years since Big Gerb has passed and in honor of our friend we are releasing this very special episode of our podcast, thanks to all of our new listeners and everyone who has stuck by us. Enjoy!  This episode was recorded on January 13th 2014 at 2:19 AM, it is an unreleased audio interview that was supposed to be the part of Hongree Radio Podcast we were planning to launch before Big Gerb passed on January 12th of 2016.  The episode begins with an intro from Mobcast hosts Surreal and Spik and continues to some outtakes of Gerb and Spik talking about show ideas.  Big Gerb talks about latin rappers and rappers he looked up to such as Big Pun and how he reached out to Pun's wife Liza Rios for advice.  They discussed the huge turnout for Gerb's 30th birthday party, paying homage and the importance of showing love to your people and staying true to your roots, and the 100 Big Poppa Burgers he gave to ticket holders during the Hunger Pains album release party.  Gerb also talks about interactions with Houston rap legend K-Rino, building his home recording studio, learning to make beats and why song Spanish Bullets was released uncompleted.  He also talks about his two very different Houston House of Blues performances, why he read the book to the movie Scarface, what he would do with a million dollars, some hilarious public restroom stories during an award show, what he feared most and what his family thought about his music.  He closes out with an extremely funny  story about trying out for high school sports, his legacy and how he wanted to be remembered.

    On this episode Spiktakula and Yung Surreal smoke out with Yazzy Nicole a raw new North Houston Singer/MC.  She goes in on bullies and working with Slow Life of LVD to co producing with Spiktakula on her debut album 'Burgeon' . The meaning behind the title and being mentored by Yung Surreal and becoming the newest member of Hongree Mobb/Records.

    2. Are We Drunk Yet?

    On this episode of the Mobcast, Surreal and Spiktakula speak about everything from relationships, bad gifts, romance, dating women with pets, music producer fees and future projects they will be dropping.  Spiktakula places a beat with Young Noble of the Outlawz with J-Loc and how the west coast legend Spice One got a hold of one of his beats.  They talk about working with new H-Town Hongree artist Yazzy Nicole and brakedown her recent release "Heinous Crimes" and "Alpha".  And working with H-Town legends 4-Deep's new group featuring Mike Jones the Old School Damn Fools.  Surreal working with Point Blank of the SPC and how Spiktakula made an ass of himself when he met H-Town legend PSK-13 and Gangsta NIP after a bad set at Jet Lounge.  They also tell stories of Surreal passing out during a performance, bar tabs with a comma and meeting rapper Ritz of Strange Music, Optimo Ram picking up Surreal from the county jail after a show and much more.

    On this episode Yung Surreal and Spiktakula talk about the passing of Big Gerb and how it affected Hongree Records and how they dealt with it personally.  They give a detailed history on how Hongree Records came to be.  Spiktakula shares stories about learning the music hustle form South Park Mexican, his intro to the music industry with group Fat Texas and KickDoor Bandits.
