Schola Mystica

I just wrote a whole other review and now it’s disappeared into cyberspace. Sigh. Worth writing again. What I was trying to say is that there is plenty of cultural—and multicultural—baggage which has accumulated over millennia at the door of the eternal invitation of Divine encounter. What I think Carl McColman is doing in this podcast is helping us logically sort through the cultural accumulations around the door—the definitions, expectations, schools of thought, judgments—even cultural messages about ‘who we are’ as we approach the Divine Mystery. I find this approach helpful as I think about my own contemplative life. I appreciate that the podcasts so far are not long, and find listening to these messages a good use of my time.
