  1. What They Don’t Tell You About Growing Up: Career Shifts, Anticipatory Grief & Aging Parents

    Episode 1

What They Don’t Tell You About Growing Up: Career Shifts, Anticipatory Grief & Aging Parents

This episode holds a transparent moment.  I recorded this on an early morning when everything hit me at once. The shift in my career, the quiet grief I’m feeling as my dad ages, and the weight of holding it all together. This episode is raw, and I didn’t plan to cry (I promise lol) but that’s what made it REAL. So if you’re in a season of transition, you’re not alone. I hope this reminds you that feeling deeply isn’t a weakness, it’s proof we're still alive, becoming, and growing irl.  I hope this helps during your journey. 3 What to Expect in This Episode: A transparent breakdown, sharing a real-time emotional moment. Navigating anticipatory grief as a daughter and mother. Processing the weight of aging parents while balancing adulthood.Honest reflections on career transitions and identity shifts. What it feels like to grow through heavy seasons. How I’m learning to hold both gratefulness and grief. A moment of surrender and why I chose to keep it in the episode. Current Bible Chapter: Ecclesiastes 3: "There is a time for everything." 2. Do I Even Have Friends? Navigating Adult Friendships & How To Build Your Community with Intention

    Episode 2

Do I Even Have Friends? Navigating Adult Friendships & How To Build Your Community with Intention

In this episode, I explore a question many of us think: “Do I even have friends?”  As adults, friendships look different from how they did in childhood or high school, or even college. Life becomes busier with career growth, responsibilities, and family, yet there are still moments where loneliness can quietly creep in.  I share how I personally navigate building and maintaining genuine friendships as a mom, a college student, and a woman navigating both corporate and creative rooms professionally. We talk about stepping outside of comfort zones to meet new people intentionally, nurturing the relationships already in our lives, and finding confidence in seasons that feel isolating. I also share words that are also rooted in God’s word, and this conversation reflects on how we were created not just to exist independently, but to build, multiply, and steward meaningful community. If you have ever questioned your circle, felt alone in your growth, or desired a deeper connection, this episode is for you. 3. TRC Audio Documentary: What Does Culture Mean to You? Voices Under The Coconut Tree

    Episode 4

TRC Audio Documentary: What Does Culture Mean to You? Voices Under The Coconut Tree

In this special TRC Audio Documentary, host and producer Aida Ozuna steps outside the studio and into a live Dominican cultural experience. What does culture mean to you? That is the question guiding this episode. Aida attends Under The Coconut Tree, a photo exhibition by Rebel Spectrum, also known as Ambar Veras. The exhibit celebrates, questions, and explores Dominican identity through art, memory, and history. But this night was more than photos on a wall. You’ll hear bachata playing in the background.  Laughter.  Inside jokes.  Conversations between strangers who, somehow, don’t feel like strangers. Aida interviews attendees she has never met before. They talk about culture, family, migration, pride, and what it means to carry Dominican identity into new spaces. There are serious reflections.  There are unserious moments. (just being goofy lol)  There is musica.   There is food.  There is genuine connection. And this is all culture, too. This episode explores how culture shapes us not just through history, but through community, shared sound, shared language, and shared memory. Aida reflects on what it means to be part of Dominican creative communities, recently being accepted into a Dominican Writers retreat, and how spaces like this affirm identity in powerful ways. She walked into the room, not knowing anyone but she left reminded that belonging doesn’t always require introductions. Culture creates connection before names are exchanged. If you’ve ever wondered how your identity shapes the way you move through the world, this immersive audio experience invites you to reflect on your own story.  Check out Artists  @artby.gigi and @rebelspectrum Thank you for being part of the TRC community 3 - AO Send us Fan Mail Support the show The Real Confessions Hotline: ‪813-444-8134‬ (Leave a voicemail for a chance to be featured on the show)  Produced by: The AO Media Studio Connect with Aida: Instagram: @aidaozuna Email: hello@aidaozuna.com Watch on YouTube: youtube.com/@therealconfessionspodcast Website: therealconfessionspodcast.com Would you be interested in collaborating or being featured? 6. Growth in the Pruning Season: My First-Gen Academic Journey

    Episode 9

Growth in the Pruning Season: My First-Gen Academic Journey

It’s never too late to begin again. ✨ In this episode, I reflect on returning to higher education as a first-generation, non-traditional student at 26 while balancing motherhood, work, faith, and personal growth. After receiving the Carl D. Perkins Achievement Award at Luzerne County Community College, I found myself reflecting on just how much can change when you choose resilience. From dropping out at 17, becoming a single mother, walking away from a long-term relationship during a major pruning season, receiving a scholarship the very next day, and becoming more involved on campus, this season has reminded me that obedience, heartbreak, and growth can all coexist. This conversation is for anyone who questions whether it’s too late to start again. We’re talking about:  • Returning to college as an adult learner  • Navigating academia as a first-generation student  • Balancing school, motherhood, and work  • Trusting God through pruning seasons  • Walking away from what no longer aligns  • How obedience can open unexpected doors  • Scholarships, campus involvement, and academic growth  • Learning not to downplay your accomplishments Your path does not have to look traditional to be meaningful. Keep going. Your story is still unfolding.
