    Nelson Piquet - Part 4

    The final stretch of 1981 saw Carlos leading the championship. Having been consistent all throughout the year, outperforming the 1980 Champion Alan Jones. Nelson Piquet did what would have happened eventually by clinching the title, becoming the first Brazillian world champion since Emmerson Fittipaldi in 1974.  Find out how Carlos managed to let the title slip through his hands in the second and final part of 1981!

    This is the Big One! 1981, the year Piquet was able to capitalize on Carlos' sloppy title fight to become the second Brazilian World Champion in F1 History. Ferrari and Renault dropped the ball and neither of their 4 drivers could capitalize on their meager successes. 1981 is split into two parts, with a moment of silence at the end to commemorate the death of the young mechanic Giovanni Amadeo.
