The Dodgers Get Swept, MLB’s Lockout Is Coming & Week 6 Picks With Josh Tariff

The three-peat is over. Milwaukee swept the Dodgers out of the NLCS, finishing it with six unanswered runs in Game 4 after Los Angeles led 4-0, and outscoring them 21-11 with seven home runs to one. John Browner gives the Brewers full credit and says the Dodgers simply looked tired after three straight deep October runs; Grant, who played the game through Division I, says Milwaukee played baseball the right way and LA didn't. The crew also asks why none of the NLCS games at Dodger Stadium sold out. Beav joins to call it a blue-collar city taking out the stars, and the conversation turns to what comes next: the CBA expires December 1, the owners want a hard cap and a floor, and John explains why the players will cave — there are far more $700,000 players than $700 million ones. Plus MLB's proposal to let top seeds pick their playoff opponent, which John loves. Then Thursday night: Denver beats Seattle in overtime despite zero second-half points, John says Sam Darnold is this generation's Trent Dilfer, and Bo Nix gets his own reckoning. Josh Tariff closes with Week 6 picks: the Giants over New Orleans, the Cowboys in Green Bay, Carolina over a Hurts-less Eagles team, and how many snaps Justin Fields sees in Chiefs-Chargers. Rams Lose a Monday Night Classic on a Blocked Kick, the Eagles Collapse in London & the Dodgers Go Down 0-2

Grant was at SoFi Stadium for one of the best Monday Night Football games of the year — and it ended the way Rams games keep ending. Josh Allen and Matthew Stafford traded blows through eight lead changes and 35 fourth-quarter points before Buffalo blocked a 48-yard field goal to drop the Rams to 2-3. Grant is done giving Sean McVay the benefit of the doubt on special teams and the red zone; John says this one isn't on McVay at all, and that the real season starts when Myles Garrett comes back. John also worries about Puka Nacua's 24 targets. Tim Parker joins to defend McVay, then circles the Cardinals game as the line in the sand. Then the rest of Week 5: the Chargers fall to 0-5 against Denver, Washington and New York tie after Jayden Daniels lets the clock run out — and John says his "top-down" explanation afterward tells you a lot — and Tyson Bagent struggles as the Packers beat the Bears. Tim returns for his Eagles, who lost on a last-second kickoff return in London and now own the league's worst second-half offense; he says Sunday against Carolina decides the season. It closes with the Dodgers down 0-2 to Milwaukee, and John's case for sitting a hurting Shohei Ohtani. New episodes weekday mornings. Follow the crew on X. Yamamoto Puts the Dodgers One Win Away, the NFL Suspends Two Refs & Lane Johnson Walks Away

The Dodgers are one win from their third straight NLCS after beating the Braves 3-1 in Atlanta. Yoshinobu Yamamoto struck out a postseason-career-high 10 over seven innings to move to 8-1 in October, and John Browner says he's already the pitching version of Mr. October. Grant explains why Shohei Ohtani hitting fifth isn't the scandal people think, and the crew tracks the Padres' must-win game live as it happens. Then the Lakers' honeymoon: Luka's 21 in 16 minutes and Cam Carr's 19 have fans buying in, Grant included — but John says it was the Kings, and he isn't buying fake gold yet. The WNBA semifinals bring an upstart Valkyries team that outrebounded the defending champion Aces 52-25, and an Atlanta Dream team Grant covered at Sports Illustrated. Grant calls UCLA the best story in college football; John won't believe it until he sees the bank statement. The NFL suspends two officials for unprofessional conduct, and John argues the refs were provoked and that gambling is why officiating has never been more scrutinized. It closes with Lane Johnson's retirement four games into his 14th season, and why the crew is glad he walked away on his own terms. New episodes weekday mornings. Follow the crew on X.
