01 So It's Come To This...

On our very first episode we come out swinging and walk head-first into a nostalgia trap by discussing "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" (1990) as a lens for viewing the 1990s and how as kids we were inundated with images related to crime, violence, and the War on Drugs . Later, we examine one of pop-culture's most deranged creations: The anti-drug PSA "Cartoon All Stars To The Rescue".

Not a moment throughout where they didn’t sound excited about the subjects. Fun to find some context for TMNT in the “war on drugs”!
