    Bonus episode with Jackson Cooper

In this special episode, I was joined by Jackson Cooper, Major Gifts Officer for the Pacific Northwest Ballet. While we do talk about covid and its impact on PNB and development, we spend some time talking about the impact that the pandemic has had and will continue to have on those getting ready to enter the workforce. With more importance being given to having remote-friendly workspaces, what does that mean for the arts and negotiating those terms of hire? What leverage do new hires have in this changing environment? Tune in to hear Jackson's take on all this and more!

Episode 7 - Lisa Shames and Fran Jeens

In the last episode of season 1, I talk with Lisa Shames and Fran Jeens of the Jewish Museum London. Lisa, Fran, and the entire museum team have been doing some incredibly innovative work during the time of quarantine in England, and I was so excited to catch up with them to learn how they're adapting to "the new normal." The Jewish Museum is located in Camden Town on the north side of London and features an extensive collection of Jewish culture and heritage artifacts. Before lockdown, they offered school tours to thousands of students each year from across London and a number of community events such as neighborhood walks and family days, and they have gone to great lengths to stay connected to their community and audience.

    Episode 6 - Tyler Murphy

This week I talk with Tyler Murphy, Gifts Officer for the Fort Worth Symphony in Fort Worth, Texas. Tyler and I have been friends for a long time, going all the way back to our days with the Houston Symphony, and I was really excited to talk to him about his new job, new city, and our new normal.

  5. 11/17/2020

    Episode 5 - Mandy Stone

In this week's episode, I talk with Mandy Stone, Vice President of Earned Income and Guests Services at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City, KS. In addition to housing what she describes as an encyclopedic art collection, the Nelson-Atkins also has become famous for its visit from the Kansas City Zoo's penguins.

  6. 11/10/2020

    Episode 4 - Celeste Fetta

In this week's episode, I talk to Celeste Fetta, Director of Education for the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond, Virginia. The VMFA was fortunate enough to transition many of their education offerings to a virtual platform during lockdown and has since successfully reopened its galleries. Celeste and I were also joined by her children who were home from school while she worked remotely for the day.

  7. 11/03/2020

    Episode 3 - Jeanette Shires

This week's episode features, Jeanette Shire, the Executive Director of the Mattie Kelly Arts Center located in Niceville, Florida. The MKAC is not only an arts presenter with several performance spaces and a gallery but also is an extension of Northwest Florida State College with classes and an extensive education component. Because it has these two different components, they have had to face some unique challenges and to come up with equally unique solutions.

  8. 10/27/2020

    Episode 2- Carol Keeney

Carol Keeney is a Tessitura and CRM Project Manager with BKeeney Software in Lenexa, Kansas. She has been working with the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art as a contract employee, and I was able to talk with her about her son's move back to college in Chicago, life as a remote employee, and how she stayed sane and connected to her team while the museum was closed.

  9. 10/20/2020

    Episode 1 - Steve Brosvik

In my first episode, I talk to Steve Brosvik, President of the Utah Symphony Utah Opera. It's fitting that Steve is my first guest because he was also my first boss when I went to work for the Houston Symphony after graduating from college. We talked about the challenges of performing live music at high altitudes, moving across the country during a pandemic, and how the USUO is adapting to "the new normal" of life during Covid-19.
