LIFE IN NIGHTLIFE with DIYA KUMARI JADEJA | take 43

here, we talk about what how music shapes us, gig culture, strange things artistes have requested, being a team player and more --- Diya Kumari Jadeja is an award-winning nightlife programmer and live venue curator, recognized for shaping some of India’s most influential music experiences. With an academic foundation in Political Science, Sociology (specializing in Child Behavioural Sciences), and Film & Video Production, she brings structure, cultural insight, and creative vision into every platform she builds. As one of the early female booking agents in India’s music ecosystem, Diya programmed and managed shows for leading artists including Lucky Ali, Euphoria, Indian Ocean, Nucleya, Eric Prydz, Above & Beyond, Markus Schulz, Astrix, Infected Mushroom, Gilby Clarke, Mohan Kannan, Jerome Isma Ae, Jaytech, Grum, Pretty Lights Etc. Her venues earned recognition, including Best Nightclub and Best Live Venue awards, solidifying her reputation as a respected force in entertainment programming. She was the founder of Shut Your Trap, an independent IP built to spotlight underground hip-hop, MC battles, drum & bass, and dubstep — an open platform dedicated to recognizing raw talent, featuring artists such as Karan Kanchan and other emerging voices at blueFROG Pune. Earlier in her career, Diya worked as a journalist for Euphoric, then India’s only EDM-focused publication, where she interviewed global artists including Rudimental and Skrillex, gaining a sharp editorial lens on global music culture. A deeply committed animal rights activist, Diya rescued and adopted dogs from abusive backgrounds — seven so far — and continues to feed community animals daily, extending her advocacy far beyond the spotlight. Bringing her journey full circle, she co-founded Moonlight Studio alongside her business partner with the intention of exposing a small town to a larger scope of music through multiple mediums of dance and performance. From making people dance by programming world-class artists, she now gives people the tools to dance themselves — empowering individuals to move confidently in any style and truly make music their own. --- What Diya's up to these days : www.instagram.com/diyakumarijadeja What's new on SwS these days : www.instagram.com/storieswithshastri This podcast is produced by Memento : linktr.ee/mementoindia For enquiries, contact storieswithshastri@gmail.com #interview #podcast #storieswithshastri
