    Following Jesus

    Following Jesus is more than a moment, it is a lifetime of surrender. In this passage, Jesus calls Peter to trust Him not just with the present, but with the future. A future Peter cannot control, but can fully entrust to Christ. In this sermon, Pastor Jeff reminded us that following Jesus also means letting go of comparison. When Peter looked at others, Jesus brought him back with a simple call: stay focused on Me. Our calling is not to measure our lives against someone else’s, but to faithfully follow where Jesus leads us. And in that faithfulness, our lives begin to tell a story. A testimony that points others to Him. When we surrender control, reject comparison, and stay close to Jesus, He uses our lives to leave a lasting impact.

    A Restored Life

    In one of his lowest moments, Peter comes face to face with Jesus again. Not with rejection, but with restoration. Jesus meets him personally in his failure, speaks with grace instead of condemnation, and lovingly calls him back to purpose. This Sunday, Pastor Scott reminded us that Jesus does the same for us. He doesn’t define us by our worst moments. He restores us, renews us, and then entrusts us with His mission. Restoration is not just something we receive, it is something we live out. Changed by His grace, our lives should reflect that transformation in how we love, serve, and follow Him.
