Ep 08: Knowing When It's Time to Pivot

“Change can be scary, but change is necessary for growth.” - my special guest. I caught up with the beautiful and talented Pelumi from The•Letter•Well as we sat and discussed building a brand from zero to something then stopping. We chatted as both being working Mums, having visions, working on those visions and knowing when it was time to pivot. Whether it’s to close it down or change your focus. How do you know when it’s time to make changes? Do you need to wait for a word from God as a Christian woman? Have a listen to the full convo to hear our thoughts and encouragement to you. 🤍 Here is the episode in 5 quick points: 1. How to know when it’s time to pivot? #scary 2. Is money enough to do something you don’t enjoy? 3. Closing something good in a beautiful way 4. Allowing yourself to do other things - build something new 5. Discussing how to live out Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 Fun fact: Pelumi and I have met each other and connected through the wonderful world of Instagram. It’s been a blessing cheering each other on and seeing another kingdom sister doing her thang with the Lord and her gifts. What’s it like to wfh with a baby? 2. Juggling my many hats 3. Being an intentional mother 4. Being a black woman in the corporate world 5. Ep 06: Foundations Check + 2020 Reflections

2020 was a very wild year for us all. The whole world was on fire and we all experienced the heat. No one could have known but God. It humbled me and I’m sure humbled many of us to know that we are truly not in charge! In this final episode for 2020, I’m recapping over the year + sharing some thoughts on the importance of checking our foundations! Here’s the episode in 5 quick points: 1. Having a baby during a pandemic! 2. Building on a sure foundation 3. Unpacking Matthew 7:24-27 4. Sticking to The Truth above any human being 5. Prayer to close up the year - 2 Timothy 4:3-4 Fun fact: I regularly examine myself to check if I’m still in the faith (2 Corinthians 13:5), not out of fear, but out of desire not to deceive myself. Not to love my own ideas above the word of God. I have to check my heart and what I believe because there is so much deception out there and I don’t want to be led astray. It’s SO hard to be honest with ourselves, but so needed and rewarded to have a fruitful relationship with Christ. 🤍 About: Set Apart Style Podcast is hosted by Nash Amber. Ep 04: 35, Single & Not by my choice.

The expectations in Christian circles to be married by 30 can be wild. Historically some black faith-based circles haven’t encouraged dating when we were younger but then expect marriage and healthy romantic relationships as we grow up. I invited my people to this convo so we can chat together. Special Guests - My husband Arnold, my bro Gus and my sis/Gus’ fiancé Miriam. Here is the episode in 5 quick points: 1. Dating for the first time in your 30s 2. Dealing with heartbreak when you’re older vs younger 3. How some Christians sisters vibe with guys 4. Is there something wrong with not dating? 5. Tips on being positioned well! Lol Fun fact: I never dated much when younger but always had good healthy relationships with brothers in Christ which helped me learn how to relate with men across the board.
