    A criminal network operating inside Canada sent a letter to the Abbotsford Police Department claiming 5,000 members and more guns than police, and telling Canadian authorities it would rule here.     On July 10, 2026, an 83-year-old Ontario woman who had told her care home that MAiD conflicted with her Christian faith received it anyway.     Six phrases Ottawa used this year. Not one of them says anything.

    Recalibrating relations. Spiritual reflections in military settings. Supplemental coverage benefit grid. Non-criminal hate incident. Accumulated projected savings. Medical assistance in dying.Six phrases, all of them from Canadian government departments, all of them attached to a decision that changed something real for somebody. Not one of them tells you what happened.This is an opinion piece and I say so on camera. The argument about the language is mine: when a decision is given a name nobody can object to, the objection often never forms, and the name quietly decides whether a thing goes to Parliament or just gets signed in a department.
