    Joy in the Journey

    It's about time we had some major fun on this podcast! This episode starts off with an unexpected story about a chimpanzee in Jill’s house to open up a discussion about JOY! Jill shares her experience as a patient with chronic pain. She talks about how frustrating it can be interacting with medical professionals who want to “fix” everything and how you can find joy even in the worst of circumstances. Joy can be something SO SMALL you probably won’t see it! Slow down and be intentional with how you spend your time, energy, and focus. Learn how to live in the gray area of living with chronic pain alongside of joy AT THE SAME TIME!!! Joy doesn’t have to mean that everything is going your way. It’s a sign of hope and a gentle reminder that this life is worth living while FEELING alive. “I learned a long time ago on the tilt-a-whirl that it is entirely possible for a human being to laugh and throw up at the same time!”

    Lyme Disease

    Continuing our Awareness Month series, Anna does a deep dive on Lyme Disease! She talks about the mechanism of action for the bacterial infection, signs to look for including that famous bullseye rash, co-infections of protozoa and how the detection/treatment differs from Lyme, as well as the psychological and physical therapy implications.

    Shifting Gears: Transitioning from Undergrad into PT School

    This week Clare & Anna sit down to talk about 𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒔𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 from undergrad to graduate school. Making any transition in life can have it's difficult moments, and transitioning into PT school is no exception. From balancing a rigorous course load & figuring out the best way to approach studying to figuring out how to work time for self care, family & maybe even a job, diving into PT school can throw us all for a loop. During our conversation, we will each share their personal experiences making that transition, and we will share some of the lessons we learned along the way to make daunting change from undergrad to grad school a little more manageable.
