My name is Truong and welcome to my Journey to College podcast. In this podcast I will be sharing my experiences and stories from my childhood in Vietnam, my experience with schooling in America, and other events that had ultimately contributed to getting me here, being a student at one of the most selective universities in the country. I hope to use this space to reflect and share my experience with the world as a low-income, first-generation, immigrant, Vietnamese Vietnamese American student of color still trying to figure out who I want to be in the world.

    F.O.B (Fresh off the Boat) | Episode 0

    'FOB", short for "fresh off the boat", is a derogatory term used to describe immigrants of Asian descent that had not fully assimilate into American culture yet. When I first moved to America from Vietnam with my family in 2013, I was a FOB. Things were not the same anymore, it was not easy to get used to American culture and the new environment in the new country. I struggle to figure out my new roles and identities in this country and most of these struggles occurred in school.  Music by: Relaxdaily
