EP.14: The Science of World Building - A Conversation with Richard Morgan

Ever wonder what it’s like to be in an airport lounge with Tina Turner while someone mistakes her for Aretha Franklin? Well, you’ll hear all about Joey’s experience and other great Tina stories, along with Alan and Joey’s thoughts on her new documentary. They also dive into the new Gucci movie starring Lady Gaga and Adam Driver, and what Alan’s client Patricia Gucci *really* thinks of the whole thing (spoiler: she’s not pleased with certain elements). And joining the conversation this week is sci-fi and fantasy author Richard Morgan to discuss the science of world building, something he’s built an impressive career doing. Richard is the author of 9 novels, one of which, ALTERED CARBON, was made into a hit Netflix series of the same name. They talk world building, his process (or lack thereof) and what it’s like to be a consultant on a tv show adapted from something that started as an idea inside your head. Richard tells the story of how his career got started and gives great advice to all the authors out there trying to get their work published. As always, we have a guest-inspired cocktail of the week! This week enjoy THE ALTERED PERCEPTION (hold onto your hats for this one). Find the full recipe and more on @twoguysfromhollywood on Instagram, and @TGFHPodcast on Twitter and Facebook. Cheers!

EP.9: The Triple Threat - A conversation with Suzanne de Passe

On this week’s episode, we’re talking about one of the most sought after titles in the entertainment industry: THE TRIPLE THREAT. Whether it’s singing/dancing/acting, or producing/writing/directing, being a triple threat is something our guest this week knows everything about: Suzanne de Passe. Suzanne is an award winning producer, writer, and a pioneer in the music business. Suzanne speaks with us about her early days with Motown, working with Diana Ross and The Supremes, discovering The Jackson 5, and her transition into producing award winning television and films as a black woman. We talk about everything from: how the industry has changed, the new Woody Allen docu-series, that one time buying a limo she couldn’t afford changed the course of her life, impulse COVID purchases that don’t always work out, and much, much more. Join us for a fascinating look into decades of the best music, movies and TV ever created - and hot takes from the woman responsible for a lot of it. And if you’ve ever wondered what someone who knew Michael Jackson for decades thinks of the docu-series “Leaving Neverland”...you’ll find out here. As always, we have a guest-inspired cocktail of the week! This week enjoy THE TRIPLE THREAT. A Refreshing Combination of Humor, Class, Intellect, and Relevance

This is the only show of its kind out there but it should be the paradigm for talk-show podcast formats moving forward. This remarkably engaging pair of on-air talent delivers pertinent conversation that summons the best facets of their distinct and quite clearly multi-dimensional personalities. Great show.
