    Dr Liz Marles

    Dr Liz Marles is a past President of the RACGP and is currently the Director of the Hornsby-Brooklyn GP Unit (NSW Health). Having had a first career as a high school teacher in Victoria, Liz started medicine at the age of 28, and had her first child at the end of her intern year at Hornsby Hospital. She undertook GP training combining part time clinical placements with work as the NSW RLO and then as an Academic registrar at the University of Sydney. For 15 years, Liz worked as a GP at the Aboriginal Medical Service in Redfern , and has continued her interest in aboriginal health through the establishment of the Bungee Bidgel Clinic at Hornsby Hospital. Liz’s current interests remain in evidence based clinical practice, education, therapeutics and health equity. Since completing her term as RACGP President, Liz has taken on a number of leadership roles , including as Chair of Therapeutic Guidelines, member of the Pharmaceutical Benefits Advisory Committee , member of Cancer Australia Advisory Council, and as a board member of GP Synergy. She also participates in multiple state and federal government committees, concerned with health policy and remains a member o the RACGP NSW and ACT faculty.

    Professor George Kailis

    Professor George Kailis is Executive Chair of the MG Kailis Group, a major fishing and marine business, and is Professor of Management and Law at the School of Business of the University of Notre Dame. He holds special interests in the areas of natural resource policy and law and fisheries management. Professor Kailis has had extensive industry, government and community experience at both a national and international level. He was recognised by the World Economic Forum as a Global Leader for Tomorrow in 1998. He has served on various boards and in advisory roles including on Yale University’s Center for Environmental Policy and Law and as Chair of CSIRO’s Wealth From Oceans project.

    Professor Claire Jackson

    Professor Claire Jackson was RACGP President from 2010 to 2012. Claire is a practising GP and GP Trainer in Brisbane has been active in integrated care innovation, education and research for many years. She has been extensively involved in health services research and reform since the early 90s. She has been a member of both the national Primary Health Care Advisory Group and the National Primary Care Strategy Expert Reference Group - guiding forces behind Australia’s national primary care reform. She provided a commissioned paper for the National Health and Hospital Reform Commission on new models in primary care. Her current primary area of research interest is in health system reform involving primary care, a topic on which she has published and presented internationally. Claire is currently Director, MRI-UQ Centre for Health System Reform and Integration.
