Is Joe Miller the next Zach Lowe? Absolutely not, and any attempt at comparison is laughable at best. Is Joe Miller the next Kevin O'Connor or Marc Stein? Also no, and it’s probably not even close. However, No Filler With Joe Miller does merit a listening and here’s why.
It’s important to note that I write this review with a slight bias as one of the original supporters of the podcast host, as well as the creator of the name and the unpaid commissioned artist of the show’s graphics. However, in this review I will attempt to give an honest and fair critique of this new and original podcast.
Joe Miller is passionate about basketball. That is undeniably clear. As someone who has known him for many years, I can attest that his most redemening personality trait is a vast knowledge about basketball. You can hear that energy in the podcast, albeit said energy is violently cutting through the fairly poor quality of the mic. Despite this, No Filer w/ Joe Miler attempts to always bring in engaging guests who are well knowledgeable and interesting. Joe Miller always displays excellent chemistry with guests, almost as if they are just random friends he knows that are vaguely interested in sports. I also highly recommend listeners to call in and challenge the host over his extensive knowledge and love for another sport, that being baseball. I am quite frankly surprised that No Filler with Moe Jiller isn’t already a baseball podcast, given how much I know he loves the sport.
Like I said in the beginning of this review, Joe Miller is not prepared to become a high level NBA analyst any time soon. However, his future's still bright, and I think that Joe has great potential to be the next Colin Cowherd, which is highly ironic given his undying love for Colin’s daughter Liv. I believe this is a great comparison for Joe, as Colin has unparalleled knowledge about basketball- in that he does not parallel anyone who has knowledge about the sport. In essence, Joe’s strong opinions and commanding personality means that he has a strong future in the world of NBA commentary.
As previously mentioned, I have known Joe for many years and every day is the No Miller w/ Joe Filler when being his friend. Listening to his podcast is nothing new to me, and while his slightly shrewd voice may be annoying to some, I would still highly recommend giving Mo Jiller with Foe Niller a listen in your free time
