Suffer With Intention, It Just May Save Souls

Greetings everyone, and may mercy, peace, and love be multiplied to you. We will be in 1 Peter 4 today. As Christians, suffering is all but guaranteed. But is suffering something we actively seek out, or just a side effect of being faithful? The end is coming, and has been coming ever since Jesus first left this earth. When you wake up, is your first priority to go out and say or do things that will cause you to suffer, or is self preservation on your mind? This goes against the natural instinct, but this also results in souls being saved. By choosing to rock the boat, poke the bear, or shake the metaphorical hornet’s nest, we may get hurt, but as a result, the Gospel may be proclaimed, and lives will be changed as a result. You may not always get the desired result, but that’s not our job. Lost people are very unlikely to stumble into Christianity by themselves (not that it can’t happen). That’s why God uses people like you and me to live a life that Jesus lived so that souls can be saved. We are going to suffer regardless, use it for His will. “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28 19-20 You can reach us at facebook.com/hbchillsboro. The Revelation Of Things To Come Conclusion: What Are We Supposed To Do?

Greetings everyone, and may mercy, peace, and love be multiplied to you. We will be in Matthew 28 today. Over the past several weeks, we have talked about issues going on within the church, as well as issues going on outside in the world. So where does that leave us? If we’re not supposed to be about money, putting on shows, or celebrating evil, then what are we supposed to do? Jesus’ great commission for us is to go, and make disciples, and teach them everything that Jesus taught us. It’s that simple, it’s all He asks of us, and yet the Church struggles with doing just that. If we aren’t working for the purpose of Jesus being proclaimed and supporting the mission, then we are just wasting our time. And that mission doesn’t stop at the end of the sermon on Sunday morning, but continues throughout the week in our everyday life. If you are a believer, ask Jesus what He wants you to do. And if you aren’t sure about your eternity, today is the day of salvation. The Revelation Of Things To Come: The Feel Good Gospel

Greetings everyone, and may mercy, peace, and love be multiplied to you. We will be in Acts 20 today. The biggest problem in the Church (and in society today) is the message of doing what feels good. But this is a life without any kind of discipline, whether physical or spiritual. The world tells us that there are more than 2 genders, and celebrate anything that is against Christ. But what many churches are doing is even worse. There’s preachers saying that there’s more than one way to heaven, and that you don’t have to repent, but can continue in your sinful lifestyle, so long as they get that nice cushy paycheck. This Christian life isn’t supposed to be a comfortable one, just ask Jesus how many houses He owned or how much was in His 401k. Unfortunately, millions of people follow these types of churches and only attend to feel good about themselves, possibly with the hope that they will get some sort of return on investment, but fail to invest in their eternity. Earthly money won’t last forever, but our reward in Heaven will. The Revelation Of Things To Come: Our Daily Bread

Greetings everyone, and may mercy, peace, and love be multiplied to you. We will be in Matthew 6 today. Money is a necessity to function in life. But there’s a dangerous line that some people have crossed. There are pastors preaching prosperity gospel by giving with the promise that they will be rewarded, while holding onto a few private jets and a multimillion dollar home. The Bible tells us “wherever your treasure is, there your heart will be also”. God wants us to ask for what we need, and nothing more. He will take care of you. But when you try to accumulate more than what God provides for us, you will never be satisfied. Serving the Lord faithfully is ultimately what will bring us satisfaction, not material wealth. Pray to God, ask Him to provide only what you need, and you will be spiritually richer than any millionaire. The Revelation Of Things To Come: When Good Is Evil And Evil Is Good

Greetings everyone, and may mercy, peace, and love be multiplied to you. We will be in 2 Timothy 5 today. These next few week’s messages will be a bit controversial, but the truth must be spoken. Abortion is an extremely divisive topic these days, but it's a topic that the Bible is clear about. We have false teachers saying that abortion is ok, and falsely claiming that it’s not discussed in the Bible. And we have become too passive about sharing the truth, especially when it becomes uncomfortable. This is just one example, because there’s so much more. It is our responsibility as Christians to share the truth in love, rather than sharing what’s popular. And it’s our responsibility to help our brothers and sisters in Christ when they are struggling with sin. It’s not going to be easy, but if it was, it wouldn't be worth it. But if we are obedient, souls can be saved, and change can be made. Permit The Children To Come To Me: Why Kids Need To Be Kids

Greetings everyone, and may mercy, peace, and love be multiplied to you. We will be in Mark 10 today. How do we value children? We have protections in place for them to make sure that they don’t get hurt, and government laws in place built around them, yet they are treated as second rate. We look down on them for being disruptive, messy, or destructive, but that is who they are. Yes, we need to provide discipline, but we can’t fault them for being children. Jesus even rebuked the disciples for preventing the children coming to him. Children are very important, they are the future of the Church, the next generation that will replace us. If your church has children, get to know them, don’t push them aside. And if they don’t have children, find out why. Because a church without children is a dying church. Love on a child this week. Why Are You Putting On Half Of The Armor Of God?

Greetings everyone, and may mercy, peace, and love be multiplied to you. We will be in Ephesians 6 today. When you leave the house for work, school, or wherever you need to go, do you leave with only half of what you need? For example, if you work for a construction company, do you take your screw gun, but leave your hammer behind? Then why do we only leave the house with only half of our spiritual armor. We could take the helmet of salvation and the sword of truth, but leave behind the gospel of peace, others will get hurt. The people in this world aren’t the enemy, our fight is spiritual. We will always face conflict with other people, but no matter how big you think you are in this life, you will stand before a God that is bigger. And Jesus doesn’t expect us to be perfect, but to do better than we did yesterday. So, will you put on the full armor this week? “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28 19-20 You can reach us at facebook.com/hbchillsboro.
