    Why I Don't Hate My Ex (The Co-Parenting Edition)

    Special Guest: Matthew Wish, Richmond Hill, GA I met Matthew in a college course right after my marriage fell apart. We were paired as debate partners and right off the bat, I found him to be annoying and just way too much. But he grew on me and we became friends over the course of the semester. I would have never guessed we'd end up in a romantic relationship years later and I really would've never imagined having a surprise baby with this guy!  We are pretty much opposites in every way, which led to our disastrous romance. But our differences only strengthened us as a family unit. Little Hattie is the best parts of both of us and very unique in her own right. On this episode, Matt and I share a glimpse of our story of how we formed our unique family unit, how we maintain it, what challenges we had coming together as co-parents and our hopes for our little Hattie. We are not perfect by a long shot, but what drives our family and the way we co-parent is our insane love for our daughter. We want to give her every opportunity to rise and be herself without any adult baggage placed on her.     Why Singles Need to Talk to Loving Couples

    Most want it, crave it and even chase it. Love... Romantic love. But do we really understand what it takes to hold on to it? Work for it? Maintain and grow it? As a single, I've come to the place where I'm moving away from the trial-and-error methodology when it comes to romantic relationships and I'm moving toward wise counsel and sound advice. It's true every couple is nuanced in some ways, but I'm finding in talking to loving couples, there are some lasting truths that can aid in maintaining and growing love: communication (real talk), working through hard times, trying new things together and actually taking time to enjoy, respect and support each other. On this episode, I have a conversation with Kerrington and Chelsea of The Way Love Goes Podcast (now available on Spotify) who walk me through the origins of their love and the evolution of it. After talking with this loving couple, I am more convinced now that I don't have to keep falling and scraping my heart. There's a better way... sit and listen and soak in the stories and advice from couples who have been where I am and have made it to a stable, supportive and meaningful love. Kerrington and Chelsea have been married for five years and in a loving relationship for eight years. Kerrington is an accomplished entrepreneur and musician. His barbershop, Kerrington Cuts, sits in the heart of Midtown in Omaha, Neb. He is currently working on a musical project featuring samples from The Whispers. Chelsea is an amazing photographer and natural hair guru, who is developing her own hair care line.     Why I Cut All My Hair Off

    Two years ago, I started on a journey to be at one with myself and my Creator. I wanted to respect myself and accept myself as I am... naturally and organically. But it wasn’t until about a month ago when I made the tough call to cut all my hair off, start from scratch and put all the wigs and weaves away that I tested my self-love. I am learning to accept and respect my beauty, which comes from the inside out. I’m starting new. I’m learning, for me, beauty is in kinky or no hair just as it can be found in straight, silky, flowing hair.
