Sistahs in Legal Tech feat. Kameron Monet

She was a YouTuber. Then she passed the bar. Now she's building the legal tech and she's doing it for every creator who ever signed a contract they didn't fully understand. In this episode, we sit down with Kameron Monet, an attorney, content creator, and founder who is rewriting what it looks like to practice law in the digital age. She has built a loyal online community by making the fine print make sense for everyday creators, and now she's turning that mission into something bigger: a legal tech platform purpose-built to help content creators analyze and take control of their contracts before they sign away their rights. We talk about the pivot from content creation, to traditional legal practice back to content creation, how she identified a gap in the creator economy that she couldn't stop thinking about, and what it really means to build a product while holding down a legal career. We also get into the challenges of being a Black woman building in the legal tech space and why she believes Black women attorneys are uniquely positioned to lead at the intersection of law, culture, and technology. This one is for the attorneys who have more than one vision. The creators who know their contracts deserve more attention. And the builders who refused to wait for someone else to solve the problem. 🔗 CONNECT WITH Kameron Monet: Instagram: @kameronmonet TikTok: @kameronmonet LinkedIn: Kameron Buckner Website / Platform: https://www.socialdocket.ai 📲 FOLLOW THE PODCAST: Instagram: @sistahsinlaw TikTok: @sistahsinlawWebsite: sistahsinlaw.org

Sistahs Transitioning From Big Law feat. Imani Maatuka

In this episode, we sit down with a formidable attorney whose journey winds from the polished corridors of BigLaw to the deeply personal mission of expanding her family’s legal legacy. Starting her career in a high-stakes corporate firm, she learned quickly that thriving as a Black woman associate meant more than just brilliance. It required strategy, resilience, and a keen understanding of  the inner workings of law firm politics— the subtle shift from being an enterprising first-year to being perceived as a rising force. She shares how she navigated that transformation without losing her voice, her values, or her sense of purpose. Now, she’s stepping into a new chapter: helping lead the expansion of her family’s law office into a growing branch, blending tradition with innovation. It’s not just a career move. It’s a generational baton pass, one that carries stories, sacrifices, and a reimagined vision of success. Along the way, she’s been quietly building ladders for others. While still in BigLaw, she launched a scholarship program, Bridging the Gap, aimed at supporting law students from underrepresented backgrounds, turning access into action and mentorship into momentum. This conversation explores: What it really takes to stand out (and stay grounded) in elite legal spacesThe emotional and strategic calculus behind leaving BigLawHow legacy can be both an anchor and a launchpadWhy investing in the next generation isn’t optional—it’s essentialIt’s a story about power, perception, and purpose—with a blueprint for anyone charting their own path through institutions not originally built with them in mind.
