Deepening Our Relationship with Hashem with Naomi Shulman

JewishPodcasts.fm

This podcast is based on my book 'With All I Am.' As a frum woman and co-founder of Chazkeinu, a mental health peer support organization for Jewish women, I have a passion for the place where mental health and spirituality meet. Each of us has our own set of talents, challenges, and personality traits - all of which can be used to build and deepen our personal relationship with Hashem. I’ve learned through my own struggles that our relationship with Hashem is a real relationship with ups and downs. Prayer can take many forms and doesn’t always have to be pretty - it just has to be real. In this podcast we will talk about ways to stay balanced and well - emotionally, spiritually, physically, and socially - as we grow in our personal avodas Hashem. You can reach me at NaomiLeahShulman@gmail.com I'd love to hear from you!

Song: Geula Song (Maybe I'll think of a better title someday. ;-))

(Kol Isha) Geulah Song (Instrumental track: “Disenchanted” by My Chemical Romance) Well I was born in a place so far removed from the scene Where generations ago, we knew we’re all meant to be. I know one day we’ll come home, But it’s hard to feel what that means. We lost our way in the exile, distorted Your call. We are content just to visit and to pray at the Wall. We forgot what we’re missing, And that’s the saddest part of all. Oh, ohhh… We don’t belong Out in the darkness, so come on… How could You leave us with hope almost gone, You know we haven’t worn out everything…. We’re still the same ones we were back then, The ones You took out of Egypt, gave the Torah, and then We fell again and again, but You never let it be the end. Fast forward past the crusades, the persecution and war, Through the shadows of history to when we were born…. Our generation is aching, but most of us don’t know what for. Oh, ohhh… Please take us home. Don’t leave us out here all alone. We want to come back to You, but You know That we cannot do it on our own. Hashiveinu eilecha V’nashuva Chadesh yameinu k’kedem. Yibaneh HaMikdash.   You’re still the same One Who loved us before. From our earliest days, now and forevermore. Bring all the pain to an end. Don’t make us hurt again. Ki va, ki va, ki va moed! Please, God, we’re begging You, and Yehi Ratzon milfanecha - make us part of Your plan.  Chadesh yameinu k’kedem, Bring us back to our land.  Please, God, we’re looking to You. Help us do what is righteous and true. Bring all creation full circle, All that we want is You.
