Minisode | He Slept with His Ex Now We’re Back Together

Minisode submission: ...."Fast forward to 2021, six months in our new home, and my fiance lets it slip that he had actually slept with his ex-wife BEFORE coming over to my house to tell me he wanted to work on his marriage back in 2018.  It hit me like a ton of bricks.  Here I was thinking how he was such a good guy but all along he had cheated on me with his ex.  The response I received was that this was three years ago so I just shouldn't worry about it and should be glad that we are together now since our relationship had been great up until this point.  It is hard enough dealing with the ex but imagine if your man SLEPT with the ex during your relationship?  I feel so torn and sad about this information and am really struggling.

Discussing other step mom things that matter!

Finally,
A conversation about the grief and shame that step moms go through! Thank you! I’m so glad I found this when I did, it totally resonated with me! I’ve been feeling so torn inside with feeling such grief and sadness, and feeling like such an awful person, with so much guilt hanging over my head because I feel this way. Even my therapist didn’t know how to address this grief. It was refreshing and freeing. Thank you for talking about other real things that we go through and staying above the typical norms revolving around the step world. Thank you for going deeper and thinking outside the box! I look forward to listening to more episodes!

Not what I was looking for

A lot of waiting for the hosts to get to the point. I was hoping that the episodes would be deeper, pulling in experts and hard research when needed. A lot of it is just skimming the surface. The advice is fine, but often pretty shallow.

I think the podcast needs to cut down on the chit chat…I don’t care if your house was getting remodeled. Potential here, but episodes need to be tightened up.

Informative resource as a new stepmom.

This podcast has been a source of peace of mind for me as a new stepmom. It’s nice to hear some real talk about the struggles and double standards you experience as a stepmom, and to hear some “real talk” when you do need to be reminded to stay in your lane. I’ve read tons of books and listened to other podcasts and this one has been the most useful to me thus far! Thanks for all you’re doing!
