    Season 6, Episode 51: Interview with Lara Fourie (Dead Sister) from “Insidious: Out of the Further” (2026)

    In this interview, which is Lara’s first for this movie, we are opening the red door once again, but this time, the rules have completely changed. We are talking about Insidious: Out of the Further, the highly anticipated sixth installment in the legendary Blumhouse franchise. Directed by Jacob Chase, this new chapter flips the script—instead of our characters getting trapped in the smoky, demon-filled realm of 'The Further,' those terrifying entities are being dragged out into our reality. I sat down with the amazing and talented Lara Fourie who may have had a short sequence, but she had a lot to say about this film. She took me into the further and she presented a lot of insight and context for behind the scenes of one of the most iconic horror franchises in the world. Hearing about the practical scares, the shattered boundary of the further, and the incredible energy on that Melbourne set just makes me even more excited to see this chaos unfold on the big screen. Jess gave us one of the most atmospheric and shocking sequences in the entire film—a showdown in the art room that perfectly captured the practical movie magic of the era. Hello Mary Lou: Prom Night II has built a massive, passionate cult following over nearly four decades, with many fans ranking it as one of the most delightfully fun slasher sequels ever made. Speaking to Elizabeth was an absolute treat. She shared so many incredible behind-the-scenes stories with us. Hearing about the practical rigging, the creative energy on the Edmonton set, and what it was like to make such a beloved staple of '80s horror has been amazing.     Season 6, Episode 49: Interview with Tabitha Brownstone (Claire) from “Gator Face” (2026)

    Welcome back, horror fans! In this interview, we are wading deep into the muddy, blood-drenched waters of the Florida Everglades. We are talking about Gator Face, the incredible new slasher from director Padraig Reynolds that is taking the indie horror world by storm. This film is a massive love letter to 1970s grindhouse cinema, and in an era of digital green screens, it proudly features zero CGI—relying entirely on real practical effects, real gore, and very real alligators. I was joined by the fantastic Tabitha Brownstone, who stars as Claire, a vacationer whose trip to the swamp turns into a grueling fight for survival against a crazed, reptilian-worshipping cult. Talking to Tabitha was such a blast! Hearing about what it takes to film a raw, old-school horror movie in the middle of a literal swamp with real gators makes us appreciate your performance as Claire even more. You are officially a certified horror survivor!     Season 6, Episode 48: Interview with Joy Suprano (Rita) from “Crystal Lake” (2026)

    Joy and I dove deep into one of the most highly anticipated television events of the year. On October 15, 2026, Peacock and A24 are officially taking us back to the place where the nightmare began. The new prequel series Crystal Lake promises to deliver a masterclass in 1970s psychological dread, showing us the tragic, twisted origins of Camp Crystal Lake before the legends were born. In Crystal Lake, Joy steps into the recurring role of Rita, a character navigating the rising paranoia and dark secrets of a town on the brink of tragedy. This has been an absolutely fascinating look behind the scenes of what is sure to be the horror event of autumn. I would love to thank Joy so much for sharing her insights on building Rita, stepping into the atmospheric world of A24, and bringing us back to those legendary woods.     Season 6, Episode 47: Interview with Dakota Gorman (Lena) from “Hellcat” (2025)

    Imagine waking up severely wounded, locked inside the back of a moving camper trailer, with no memory of how you got there. Your only connection to the outside world is the disembodied voice of the driver coming through a crackling intercom—a man who claims he’s trying to save your life, even as his stories become increasingly unhinged. Today, I’m thrilled to be sitting down with the film's incredible and very talented lead, Dakota Gorman. Dakota plays Lena, a woman trapped in a moving Airstream who is forced into a deadly psychological chess match with her unseen driver. What an absolute phenomenal interview! Sitting down with Dakota was an amazing experience and to hear what she had to say about her role and the movie. We spoke about the psychological aspect of misguiding the audience and provoking the thoughts of conspiracy theories, the festival runs, her experiencing the movie for the first time on the big screen, and how the stakes completely shifted by feeling relieved after the production of the sequences. A massive thank you to Dakota Gorman for pulling back the curtain on such an intense shoot. It takes a very special kind of talent to hold an audience’s attention when you are confined to a single room for 90 minutes, and Dakota absolutely nailed the physical and emotional exhaustion of Lena’s nightmare. If you haven't experienced this incredible, white-knuckle ride yet, Hellcat is currently available on Shudder.

    The desire to start a family is one of the deepest human instincts we have, but in the 2021 occult thriller Blood Born, that desperation is exploited by a sinister, ritualistic cult. As a struggling couple invites a mysterious witch doctor into their home to help them conceive, those on the outside must watch a quiet nightmare unfold. I was joined today by Leah Verrill, who plays Susan, a crucial character positioned on the periphery of this escalating madness. We talked about building chemistry on a tight-knit indie set, the physical demands of suspense acting, and what it’s like working with a modern occult script. A huge thank you to Leah Verrill for sharing her experience bringing Blood Born to life. It is always fascinating to hear how actors on the periphery of a horror story work to ground the realism, acting as the audience's anchor as the world around them descends into supernatural chaos.     Season 6, Episode 45: Interview with Kym Jackson (Lieutenant Wilkie) from “We Bury the Dead” (2024)

    I am absolutely thrilled that I had the opportunity to sit down with Kym Jackson and talk to her about her role in this roller coaster of post-apocalyptic zombie film. Not only is this movie gripping, but it’s also an emotionally charged thriller that will keep you from looking away. Although Kym’s character is experiencing grief and attempting to navigate her way through the messed-up world, she delivered her role with poise and excellence.
