    Loving Vincent (feat. Nicolette Paglioni)

    CW: discussion of self harm, suicide, and mental illness (specifically bipolar and/or schizoaffective disorders). We are talking about these things almost exclusively in terms of Van Gogh’s life, so if you’re familiar and comfortable with those (sometimes gorey) details, you will likely not be bothered by this conversation. We also talk some about sex workers, but not really about sex work. Today I'm talking with Nicolette Paglioni about the stylistic masterwork that is Loving Vincent, the 2017 film where every frame is hand-painted. It's a masterful film about the life and death (mostly death) of Vincent Van Gogh, and if you ever wanted to know something about the man Nicolette will be happy to share it with you. We'll be talking about the importance of learning about history, the accuracy of the casting, good kids comedy, use of color, the late great Robin Williams, and more.
