She is a mother of three beautiful children, a Best-selling author, and a financial services officer. She is also the founder of "Let’s W.R.A.P" (Women Radiantly Activating Purpose), a support group for mothers overcoming personal trauma while raising children. Kijafa has faced many obstacles including childhood trauma, teen pregnancy, and domestic violence, but through her bravery and resilience, she has been able to overcome these challenges and build a stable foundation for herself and her children by having faith, a strong support system, and desire to not just survive but to thrive in life and to help others do the same by addressing past traumas that hold us back from our purpose.     Episode summary: Educating her way through! with Ebony Wrenn Episode Notes: Join us this week as Ebony Wrenn shares her mommying journey through self-reflection and her passion for education. More about Ebony…Ebony Wrenn is a trailblazer in the field of urban education and a highly sought-after mentor, speaker, leader, and educator. She attended Depaul University for both graduate and undergraduate studies all while being a single mother to her two young children. Her journey as a single mother began for her at the age of 19 while she was a sophomore in college pursuing her undergraduate degree in elementary education. In addition to being the founder of Moms In Motion, NFP, she currently serves as an elementary administrator. Ebony’s journey as an educator started years ago after she was awarded a scholarship from the Golden Apple Foundation. During her time as a teacher, Ebony was awarded the Rochelle Lee Teacher Award for two consecutive years. She currently mentors teachers for the Golden Apple Foundation. Her experiences range from teaching for several years prior to becoming an administrator along with leading professional development for educators on a wide range of topics such as equity in education, the impact of relational practices, and implementing a balanced literacy framework. She has served as an adjunct professor to pre-service teachers as well. Ebony is currently a scholar-practitioner and will graduate with her doctorate in Educational Leadership from National Louis University in 2022. Ebony values integrity, faith, and strategic planning. These three components have supported her throughout her journey to thrive both personally and professionally. Prior to attending college, Ebony was raised by a single mother who instilled faith-based values in her at an early age. She values mentorship and attributes much of her success as a result of having powerful mentors who have encouraged and motivated her to break barriers through goal-oriented planning and execution. More about Khaliliah: Khaliliah (Kah-Lee-Lah) is a North Carolinian born and bred with a beautifully blended family of two boys (12 and 5) and a dog. A University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill graduate with a Bachelors in Psychology and a minor in Women's Studies and a Masters in Project Management, she currently works as a Project Manager.  Fun fact: Her personal mission in life is to break generational curses whether the impact will be big or small; starting with the children! She has hope that telling her story it'll help the next girl keep pushing cause it CAN be done!
