Why it’s important to never compromise your authenticity Part 1

Hey guys! I apologize in advance, I had so many distractions while recording this. Neighbors, people knocking on the door.. I kept losing my train of thought, but that’s life right? Gotta roll with the punches! 😂 I also forgot to publish this episode when I recorded it on 1/23/22! That’s how distracted I was. I feel like I didn’t communicate my message as clearly as I intended to, however, this is me being authentic. I have major perfectionist tendencies and it’s something I feel a lot of artists struggle with also. I’m learning to embrace this concept that “Done is better than perfect.” Because the more I try to perfect something, the more I lose my authenticity in the process. I heard Gary Vee say a powerful quote the other day. He said “Perfection is the disguise of insecurity.” And wow did I need to hear that!! Some thing new I’ve been embracing in my life is being more transparent and vulnerable in everything I say and do. The more transparent I am, the more real I am. I’ll be calling myself out and owning up to a whole lot of mistakes I’ve made, both in my past and also current mistakes. I’m not perfect. I don’t have my life all together, even though some people assume that I do. I’m still a huge work in progress. I hope by me leading by this example, that it encourages others to be brave and have the courage to do the same. This is all a huge aspect of being authentic. Don’t compromise your authenticity to be relatable or more “liked”. Whatever you’re passionate about, do it with authenticity. Do everything with authenticity. Don’t do it for the likes, comments, followers or subscribers. Don’t even do it for the haters. None of that truly matters. Stay true to YOU!

    Daily Encouragement!

Many of us tend to focus on the differences we have with people, rather than similarities with people we meet, and in our relationships. Especially if we view those differences in negative way. If we focus on that, we are doing a huge disservice to ourselves by not shifting our mindset and expanding our perspective. It’s not about being right or wrong, yet so many people who think they’re right won’t even listen to someone else’s viewpoint. If we try to make a concerted effort to learn from the differences of others, we might start to learn some important things that we never even knew we needed to know. We can even start to appreciate and find the beauty in those differences. I’ve learned over the years that the people who’s opinions are much different from mine, especially if my opinion or perspective was something I thought I’d NEVER change, can often be the person who explains it in a way that I’d never thought of before and that perspective they share is the moment I change my mind. I appreciate when people take the time to tell me WHY they have a certain opinion or perspective. I respect the people that can challenge my views and opinions. I never want to be stuck in my ways. I never want to have limiting beliefs and ideas, or self limiting beliefs. I want to constantly learn, grow, evolve and CHANGE. Change is good. I encourage everyone to engage with people who challenge your views and inspire you to think outside the box.

How Do You Want to Be Remembered?

Hey everyone! Thanks for tuning in and taking the time to listen! You guys are getting the RAW, uncut, unfiltered, unedited version of me in this episode! There’s a backstory on my WHY of choosing to publish this specific unedited version as my first audio podcast episode. My WHY explains how I want to be remembered. The backstory: This first episode was literally me taking a walk and recording random thoughts in my voice memo app. This was recorded on 10.28.2020 during the Covid-19 Global Pandemic, right before 2020’s Election Day. During a time when women were fighting for their rights, which is why I mentioned abortion in my scattered thoughts. The #BlackLivesMatter Movement was, and still is dealing with SO much racial injustice and people still turn a blind eye. When I referenced Christian’s, I was referring to the hypocrisy. I was teaching, not judging or shaming. “Love Thy Neighbor” means loving everyone unconditionally, including the sinners. Everyone is a sinner, including Christians. The Bible even says that all sin is equally bad. So don’t be a hypocrite. Instead, love thy neighbor!Love thy Atheist neighbor, love thy racist neighbor, love thy addicted neighbor, love thy gay neighbor, the entire LGBTQ community neighbors! It needed to be said, and I felt convicted to say something especially as a “Christian” myself. I had no intention of sharing or posting it, or even uploading it to my FIRST audio podcast. I intended to create an edited version before posting this. But I changed my mind, because I want to be remembered as someone who speaks up about what I believe in! I’m speaking off the cuff, rambling, sleep deprived, hangry, and dealing with health issues. It wasn’t perfect. See, that’s the point though! I’m not perfect! I was in my element. This content is RAW, uncut, unfiltered, unedited and that’s what’s most important to me. I thought that what I said in this raw, uncut, unfiltered, unedited version is quite profound! My honesty, passion, wisdom and authenticity speak volumes. These are the reasons I decided to publish it, and not re-do or edit anything. Going forward, I plan to create content where I can calmly elaborate on these topics and many other topics in a more organized way. I can’t promise it’ll always be that way. I’m spontaneous, passionate, creative, random, playful, serious and I’m constantly changing and evolving. In fact, I promise NO PROMISES. I want to be remembered as someone who was, is, and will always be authentic, transparent, real, honest, and unapologetic about who I am. My integrity is something that I value and take seriously. Being honest is part of my integrity. I refuse to compromise my integrity for anything or anyone. I refuse to dim my light. I refuse to water down the truth in my messages just to make people feel more comfortable. I refuse to be silenced. I also refuse to remain silent any longer. I commit wholeheartedly to speaking my truth, and staying true to myself. Instead of being loyal to everyone besides myself, I’m choosing to be loyal to ME for the first time. I choose and commit wholeheartedly to being loving and loyal to myself going forward. My character matters more to me than what others think of me, or say about me. I don’t care what anyone thinks of me. As long as I’m staying true to myself, then that’s ALL that matters at the end of the day. If someone can’t handle my truth, or authenticity, it’s not my responsibility to change anything for that person. I don’t conform, I fearlessly blaze my own trail.🔥 I want to encourage, empower and inspire others to shine their lights ✨💡✨ And blaze their own trails also!🔥🔥🔥This is one of many ways how I want to be remembered! How do you want to be remembered?
