Episode Six - Tekken

In a world where megacorporations have taken over we are forced to watch as a plucky hero with a shadowy past enters into the premier fighting tournament to strike a blow for the people against these megacorp fat cats. Sounds super familiar, doesn't it? Well...that's exactly what the 2010 release of Tekken is. Familiar...and boooorrrriiiiinnng. It's so boring that the discussion veers off the rails into way-more-entertaining topics like 0% Rotten Tomatoes movies and the current state of the Universal Soldier franchise. Enjoy!

Episode Five - Jaws The Revenge

Do you like giant monster movies? Do you like sharks? Do you like boring melodrama with bland characters in-between the giant shark moments? Ah...had you up to the end huh? Then you might want to skip Jaws: The Revenge, the final movie in the Jaws franchise where we learn that sharks can have a concept of revenge and can hold a grudge and sometimes it might be better to lean into the fantastic.

Episode 4 - The Apple

Have you ever found yourself reading Genesis in your Holy Bible and thought "You know what this story needs? A futuristic music contest and a whole lot more disco!"? Then you're on the same kind of drugs the people who made this movie are and you should probably have an intervention. Chuck and Steve take a bite out of probably the most epicly worst car wreck of a movie that I could not stop staring at: The Apple. It's on Amazon Prime so watch it but be warned: BIM is on the way.

Episode Three - Hudson Hawk

What do Leonardo Da Vinci, theft, and cars equipped with paper shredders have in common? They are all a part of the 1991 film Hudson Hawk. In this movie Bruce Willis of Die Hard fame decided he could do no wrong and shared writing credit on a caper-flick in the vein of the old Crosby and Hope road movies. Spoiler alert - Chuck LOVES this movie.

Episode Two: The Dark Tower

"The man in black fled across the desert...and the gunslinger followed." This is the first line of the grand sweeping epic that is The Dark Tower book series. Spanning seven books and over 4,000 words Stephen King weaves a Tolkien-esque adventure featuring wild west motifs that cross with dark fantasy. Then there's this movie...kinda about the book...but really not.

Episode One: Battlefield Earth

Welcome to the very first episode of Good Podcast, Bad Movies, a new podcast where two half-life-long friends, Chuck and Steve, spend some time every week picking out the "Worst of the Worst" from the world of film and television and giving those unfortunate pieces of media a second once-over to see if they truly deserve their titles or if maybe there's some nugget of entertainment hiding in trash bin. We decided to start out with the biggest dog in the bad movie yard: Battlefield Earth. The movie that was a pet project of known Scientologist John Travolta and the, as of this writing, only movie in the history of the Razzies to win every single category it was nominated for. Hopefully you enjoy!
