    To Whom Do You Serve: Compromise, Rebellion or Stubbornness

    Send us Fan Mail A lot of us say we want to obey God, but real life keeps exposing how easily obedience turns into compromise. We start with Romans 6:16 and ask the uncomfortable question it forces on every believer: when you yield yourself again and again, who are you actually serving? Sin that leads to death, or obedience that leads to righteousness and right standing with God? We take time to define obedience the Bible’s way, not the culture’s way. From the Hebrew idea of Shema to James 1:22, we talk about why hearing God’s Word without doing it becomes self-deception, and why “fruit” is more than a church word. If our mouths claim Christ but our patterns show something else, we need honesty, not excuses. Then we get specific. We read the works of the flesh from Galatians 5, address the phrases people use to soften sin, and remind ourselves that grace is not a license to live however we want. To bring it home, we walk through Saul’s partial obedience in 1 Samuel 15 and the warning Samuel gives: to obey is better than sacrifice. We also touch on why rebellion and stubbornness are so serious, and how to respond when conviction shows up.
