    Jeremiah 29:11–13 “11 For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans for prosperity and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. 12 Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. 13 And you will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.”  Ephesians 2:10 “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.”  Jeremiah 11:16 The Lord named you “A green olive tree, beautiful in fruit and form”; With the noise of a great tumult He has set fire to it, And its branches are worthless.     4 Now the word of the Lord came to me, saying, 5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.” 6 Then I said, “Ah, Lord God! Behold, I do not know how to speak, for I am only a youth.” 7 But the Lord said to me, “Do not say, ‘I am only a youth’; for to all to whom I send you, you shall go, and whatever I command you, you shall speak. 8 Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you to deliver you, declares the Lord.” Jeremiah 1:4-8 16 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16 The Bible is not just an ancient book. It’s a timeless book. There is one thing in this life that no-one, not even Jesus, can do FOR YOU and that is to run the race that God has for YOU.     TEACHING TEXT: 1 Timothy 2,”2 I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— 2 for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. 3 This is good, and pleases God our Savior, 4 who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.” F.U.E.L. Faith “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1  “And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would approach God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.” Hebrews 11:6  Unity John 17:23, I in them and you in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me.” Encounter Matthew 28:20” Teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. THE PRAYER WARRIOR IS FUELED BY CONVICTION FOR GODS GLORY TO COVER THE EARTH. The warrior doesn't train their whole life to defend their living room; no, they go out and take ground, seek more battles, and fight on behalf of others in order to restore peace. Intercession – the act of pleading, praying, or intervening on behalf of another person. ” we are taking the things we know about God to be true and then pointing them back at the world and asking for Him in those areas”. “All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation... Bounds  “Come Holy Spirit” There is one goal in intercession: Work Hard in Prayer to see the Lord prevail. 2 Chronicles 7:14,”if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” You and the Lord are working together to bring His will to earth. Genesis 1:28,” God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.” Learn to love to work for the Lord in prayer. Young men and women of the faith are not spectators in his kingdom – once you have said yes to Jesus, He brings you fully in to participate in His work of creation restoration.  “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” — Romans 12:2 The greatest accomplishment in intercession is His presence coming into places and bringing transformation for His glory. 1 Corinthians 11:1,Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.”

    7 “When you are praying, do not heap up empty phrases as the gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard because of their many words. 8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him. Matthew 6:7-8 27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. John 10:27 “‘This people honors me with their lips,     but their heart is far from me; 9 in vain do they worship me,     teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’” Matthew 15:8-9 LEARN TO TRUST JESUS IS THE TRUE NORTH OF PRAYER Rooted and built up in him and established in the faith… Colossians 2:7 The question isn’t just, “DO YOU PRAY?” It’s, “WHAT ARE YOU TRUSTING WHEN YOU PRAY?” TRUSTING MY PERSISTENCE Then Jesus told them a parable about their need to pray always and not to lose heart. 2 He said, “In a certain city there was a judge who neither feared God nor had respect for people. 3 In that city there was a widow who kept coming to him and saying, ‘Grant me justice against my accuser.’ 4 For a while he refused, but later he said to himself, ‘Though I have no fear of God and no respect for anyone, 5 yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will grant her justice, so that she may not wear me out by continually coming.’ ” 6 And the Lord said, “Listen to what the unjust judge says. 7 And will not God grant justice to his chosen ones who cry to him day and night?     Prayer - Honest Prayers - Molly Ratliff

    “Trust in Him at all times, you people, pour out your heart before Him, God is a refuge for us.” Psalms 62:8 “in every situation by prayer let your requests be known to God.” Phil 4:6 The reality is every meaningful relationship requires us to learn four things: how to be together (wk. 1), how to talk honestly (wk 2), how to trust deeply (wk 3), and how to work toward the same purpose (wk 4).  HONEST PRAYERS Honest: telling the truth; things that are real, genuine, sincere, open and frank about real thoughts or feelings. “Do not imagine that the Lord looks down with any pleasure upon the tens of thousands of forms of prayer…. which are presented to him without heart: such forms rather weary him than worship him… The God of truth can never accept an untruthful devotion…Alas many of our fellow men never pray; and many who think they pray are yet strangers to that sacred exercise. He becomes the actual God of our life as we are honest and entrust our life to him 1) ritual>relationship2) we don’t fully trust we can be honest 1)prayers of relationship (intimacy) 2)expressions of faith Honest prayer is “God, here’s what I’m experiencing. Here’s what I want. Here’s what I’m afraid of. Here’s what I don’t understand. And I’m bringing it all to you.”- Sinclair Ferguson We serve a God who is not so small that he cannot handle the reality of who we are. He longs for relationship with us which includes being given access to our real prayers- whether they’re prayers of praise and happiness and prayers where we are dreaming and asking for bold things to the prayers of our deepest pains and questions and doubts.

    19 When I broke the five loaves for the five thousand, how many baskets full of broken pieces did you take up?” They said to him, “Twelve.” 20 “And the seven for the four thousand, how many baskets full of broken pieces did you take up?” And they said to him, “Seven.” 21 And he said to them, “Do you not yet understand?” Mark 8:19-21 1.) The Reason (The stakes are too low). We live in a world that requires us to learn the language of prayer because we live in God’s world. 16 For by[f] him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. 17 And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.  Colossians 1:16-17 4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. 5 I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.  John 15:4-5 2.) The Pathway (The knowledge doesn’t translate to life) But if I try to set forth something of the reasonableness of all prayer, I beg my readers to remember that it is for the sake of action and not speculation; if prayer be anything at all, it is a thing to be done: what matter whether you agree with me or not, if you do not pray? George MacDonald Prayer is less a thing to understand, and more a thing to be done. 3.) Immersion (High stakes, totally practical) Immersion: foreign language instruction in which only the language being taught is used 15 For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Do not disbelieve, but believe.” John 20:26-27 THE BRIDGE TO WONDER The Bridge to Wonder is the eyes the heart being opened to see Jesus rightly. It is not His will that one of His little ones should perish and, therefore, He chases away unbelief, which is their deadliest foe. The Good Shepherd will leave the 99 to seek the one wanderer! If Thomas is the most unbelieving, Thomas shall have the most care! He is only one, but yet he is one, and the Lord Jesus will not lose one whom He has ordained to save! Charles Spurgeon 27 Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here, and see my hands; and put out your hand, and place it in my side. Do not disbelieve, but believe.” John 20:27 THE RESPONSE TO WONDER 28 Thomas answered him, “My Lord and my God!”  John 20:28 It had flashed upon the mind of Thomas that this august Person whom he had regarded as the Messiah was also God. He saw that the Man at whose feet he had sat was more than man and was assuredly God, and this amazed him so that he used broken speech. He does not say, “You are my Lord and my God,” as a man would say who is making a doctrinal statement, but he brings it out in fragments. He makes adoration of it.
