It’s time for another FLOODLIGHT episode, this one from a special listener request! It’s time to talk about Over the Hedge. Phil and Ben dig deep into this mid-2000s throwback and take, as Hammy would say, a weed hacker to their childhood memories as they realize some movies don’t age very well. There’s plenty to say about the brilliant, bizarre and bad casting choices and what this movie was intended to be vs. what we ended up with. (We ended up with FLOODLIGHT material, so...) But first, the guys cover a few random topics that (kind of) tie together. The new Shang Chi trailer suggests the MCU may be headed for exciting new territory, Falcon and the Winter Soldier is wrapping up but stupid Ben is too far behind for the guys to have a productive discussion, and Ben reminisces about the newfound magic of Karate Kid 2. Finally, Ben takes this week’s floodlight and talks about Graceland, a canceled diamond in the rough crime drama on USA that no one cares about. But they really should.
