    Everything You Thought We Missed: COVID's Impact on Money, Healthcare Access, and Inequities

    For this week, we discuss all the remaining topics that you think we might have missed. Likely, you thought about how COVID has affected pregnant women's financial statuses or their access to healthcare resources. We cover how financial stability has affected their ability to maintain physical activity as well as their opportunities to receive healthcare services. We uncovered a little bit about the racial and ethnic disparities that are present for pregnant mothers, especially for Black pregnant mothers. Listen to the specific stats and the experiences that pregnant women are facing beyond their mental and physical health. At this point, you probably start to see how everything is interconnected. In this episode, we had a special guest, Kristin, who is Jamie's former co-worker, and soon-to-be mother with her first child. She shares her story and experiences regarding her overall pregnancy experience, reflecting the content from the last two episodes - mental and physical health.

    Pregnancy and Physical Health During COVID

    For this week, we discuss the physical health barriers during the pandemic among pregnant women. We touch upon the effects of the lack of academic evidence available that confirms whether or not mothers can transmit COVID to their babies during birth or breastfeeding. Listen to the specific stats and studies that we found about pregnant women with COVID. We also dive into the physiological changes and physical activity changes that pregnant women are experiencing because of the pandemic. In this episode, we had a special guest, Crystal, who is Tiffany's cousin and soon-to-be mother with her first child, share her story and experiences regarding her physical health during the pandemic.

    For this week, we discuss the mental health barriers during the pandemic among pregnant women. We touch upon the effects of the lack of academic evidence available that induces anxiety and depression, the fears that arise during pregnancy, and the role of social distancing and isolation on mental health. In this episode, we had a special guest, Amy, who is Ryan's cousin and soon to be a mother with her second child, share her story and experiences regarding her mental health during the pandemic.
