    Emily shares her stories growing up in Japan and Australia as a ‘hafu’ ハーフand about the differences between Australian and Japanese culture being someone who has both in her blood and how she has adapted to the different mannerisms as well as the identity struggles she’s faced in her life. She explains mannerisms some Japanese traditions and mannerisms, as well as what not to do in Japanese culture.  We also get to explore the intense working schedule in Japan and how she had to work 160 hours JUST over time, along with stories of working in the fashion industry as well as about some hidden gems in Japan as a local living there!

    Episode 15: Felan's Muso Musings

    Our special guest for episode 15 is one of the most culturally diverse guests we've had on ASM! Felan is our musician (muso in Australian) friend who was born in Australia to a Chinese Taiwanese family and spent a portion of his childhood growing up on the Solomon Islands. We hear about his career path in the music industry, as well his experience growing up as an Asian on the islands and in Australia. We hear some fun facts about Solomon Islands, the Pidgin language, as well as some of his musical influences!     A lil spicy episode this week with our friend Jessica! As a Hong Konger growing up in one of the most expensive cities in the world, she enlightens us about the ups and downs of life in HK, the importance of hobbies and side hustles for millennials, and how her calligraphy interest transcended into a side-business. She also speaks on her time studying in the UK, experiencing live nude drawings and road tripping in Morocco.
