    Abide | My Soul Waits

Season 22: Abide | #6 – My Soul Waits Scripture: Psalm 62:1-7 NEW! Watch us ONLINE! Click here! Show Notes: The vineyard has seasons. After flowers appear on the branches, grapes will be ready for harvest 150-180 days later. What happens to the vine and branches during the rest of the year? Jesus gave His disciples the command, “Abide in Me,” in the Upper Room before His betrayal in the Garden of Gethsemane. How do we abide in the True Vine? For God alone my soul waits in silence; from Him comes my salvation. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress. I shall not be greatly shaken. Psalm 62:1–2 True peace belongs to those who abide in quietness of heart before Him. Silence is not emptiness — it is an invitation. When we quiet the noise around and within us, we create space for God to speak. Most of us are deeply uncomfortable with silence. We fill every gap with sound, activity, or distraction. Yet it is often in silence that God does His deepest work in us. Waiting is also an act of faith. When we wait on the Lord, we say with our actions what David said with his words: I trust that You are at work, even when I cannot see it. I believe Your timing is best for me. Waiting is not doing nothing — it is choosing to hold still long enough for God to move. It is resisting the temptation to run ahead of Him or to manufacture our own solutions. It is one of the most difficult yet holy things a believer can do. Truly, He is my rock and my salvation. He is my fortress. I will not be shaken. Psalm 62:6 THE PRACTICE OF ABIDING – It is the daily practice of ABIDING in the VINE — in prayer, the Word, worship, and quiet dependence. This is a deliberate, intentional posture. When we set the Lord before us (Psalm 16:8), we find He is already there, waiting for us to come in silence. From that place of nearness, we can face whatever comes with courage and calm, not because our circumstances are easy, but because our God is faithful. “I will not be shaken” is not wishful thinking — it is a declaration rooted in the character of the One who holds us. Abide | Wait in Silence

Scripture: Psalm 62:1-7 SHOW NOTES: For encouragement on your spiritual journey, we invite you to visit our ministry website, Discover God's Truth, where you can access additional resources to enrich your Walk with God. NEW! Watch us ONLINE! Click here! The vineyard goes through many seasons. The fruit—grapes—is harvested 150-180 days after flowering. When we consider Jesus’ command, “Abide in Me,” we should reflect on the seasons and how to abide. For God alone my soul waits in silence; from Him comes my salvation. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be greatly shaken. Psalm 62:1-2 The psalmist finds his deepest consolation in one conviction: God is enough. True peace belongs to those who abide in quietness of heart before Him. Resting in God requires waiting — patience is essential. God is both the strength of His people (“rock” and “fortress”) and the source of their salvation. For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope comes from Him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my stronghold; I will not be shaken. My salvation and glory depend on God, my strong rock. My refuge is in God. Psalm 62:5-7 Notice that David doesn’t say, “Look to the Lord first, and then see what else might help.” He says, "Trust (wait) in God alone.” Turn away from every other substitute and turn toward the one who is truly sufficient. We do not deny our pain or pretend our circumstances are easy. Rather, we choose, in the middle of the difficulty, to direct our souls toward God rather than away from Him. This is not passive resignation — it is active and intentional surrender. Abiding is an active choice. Song: Rest - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ur78_jDX7P4&list=RDUr78_jDX7P4&start_radio=1

    Abide | Abide in Love

Season 22: Abide | #3 – Abide in Love Scripture: John 15:5-11 SHOW NOTES: For encouragement on your spiritual journey, we invite you to visit our ministry website, Discover God's Truth, where you can access additional resources to enrich your Walk with God. NEW! Watch us ONLINE! Click here! ABIDE – In this podcast season, our goal is to examine what the Bible teaches about maintaining a daily, dependent connection with Jesus so we can bear spiritual fruit rather than relying on self-effort. Jesus states positively in John 15:5 – “I am the Vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.” Abiding is an active, not a passive, process. The follower of Christ is to bear fruit. When the branch remains in union with the vine … with Christ in me … the life of Christ nourishes the disciple, and fruit will be inevitable. As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love. If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love. John 15:9-10 Jesus is loved by His Heavenly Father. He loves each of us and wants us to abide in His love. Jesus’ example is that He followed the Father’s commandments. So, we are to live according to the commandments. Love unites the disciples to Christ, as branches are united to a vine. That is why Jesus commands us to “Abide in my love.” Song: Deep Love of Jesus – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vaySq5OBayY&list=RDvaySq5OBayY&start_radio=1

"Hope & Promise" Obadiah | The Day of the Lord

Scripture: Obadiah 1:15-18 Title: The Day of the Lord SHOW NOTES: For encouragement on your spiritual journey, we invite you to visit our ministry website, Discover God's Truth, where you can access additional resources to enrich your Walk with God. NEW! Watch us ONLINE! Click here! The book of Obadiah is a vision from the Sovereign LORD concerning the land of Edom. We might overlook this message because we don’t understand the prophecy or because it doesn’t seem relevant to us today. However, the truth found in these twenty-one verses can transform the way we live each day. Pride in our hearts can lead to mistreatment and violence toward others. This happened with the Edomites. They were misled by their pride and boasted of their importance and safety, living in a rock fortress. The “Day of the LORD,” a key theme in Israel’s end-times beliefs, points to future events. This DAY signifies the time when God's rule is established in human history, and He judges all enemies who oppose His reign. This “day,” then, decides the fate of Edom and other nations that oppose Israel. The day is near when I, the LORD, will judge all godless nations! As you have done to Israel, so it will be done to you. All your evil deeds will fall back on your own heads. Obadiah 1:15 We serve a holy and righteous God, who is the perfect Judge over all. This calls us to follow Him and live according to His commands and Holy Law. Lord, shine Your light on our sins of pride and selfishness. It is our desire to walk faithfully with God.
