Netball Super League 2.0 with Claire Nelson

Send us a text Welcome to a brand new episode of Qtr Time, the UK's ultimate netball podcast covering all things netball in the UK and beyond!  Following the recent announcement from England Netball on Netball Super League 2.0, we sat down with Managing Director of the NSL, Claire Nelson, to get into the details on what the UK’s elite domestic netball competition will look like from 2025 onwards. This special episode includes everything you need to know, including some exclusive insight from Claire and a whole heap of talking points.  We cover a lot of ground, including: why four existing teams have been dropped from the league, the geographical spread of the remaining teams and two new entities, salary changes including a new banding structure, rule innovations we could see introduced, an update on training partners and how we can align the broadcast product with the league's aim to professionalise.  Lucy G & Lucy P also discuss what this means for the performance pathways and Roses programme, the pros and cons of smaller squad sizes, lessons we can learn from SSN & ANZ, the inclusion of a team owned by Premier League Football Club Nottingham Forest, and whether the two import rule is right for the NSL moving forwards. There will no doubt be even more discussions over the coming months and we look forward to keeping you updated as we build into 2025. As always we love hearing from our lovely listeners so please do get in touch with us if you have comments, thoughts or questions. Follow us on social media for updates - @QtrTimePod Have a question? Netball Nations Cup 2024 Part 1 - Razia Quashie & Phoenix Karaka

Send us a text Welcome to a brand new episode of Qtr Time, the UK's ultimate netball podcast covering all things netball in the UK and beyond! This is Part 1 of our Netball Nations Cup 2024 coverage, where we preview the upcoming competition between Australia, New Zealand, England, and Uganda. Firstly we take a look at each team for the upcoming series, highlighting our players to watch, giving our predictions, and discussing key talking points for each team. Next, we hear from key players representing two of the competing nations, England Roses defender, Razia Quashie, and Silver Ferns captain for this series, Phoenix Karaka. Our conversation with Razia covers returning from injury, mental resilience, defensive combinations for England, and how her love of the game keeps her motivated. With Phoenix we discuss the highs and lows of 2023, being promoted to captain, fitness testing, where she feels the Silver Ferns are at the start of the new international cycle, and so much more. *Apologies for a bit of airport background noise in our conversation with Phoenix, we hope you still enjoy the chat and hearing her perspective. This Part 2 will be released following the series so stay tuned on our social channels for the announcement! You can find information on the 2024 changes to the netball rules here and here.
