Grand Serpent Rising — the 10th studio album from Dimmu Borgir — dropped on May 22, 2026 via Nuclear Blast Records, and in this video I break down every track, every riff, and every orchestral swell across all 69 minutes of this beast. Recorded at Studio Fredman in Gothenburg with longtime collaborator Fredrik Nordström — the same producer behind Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia and Death Cult Armageddon — the album delivers 13 tracks of pure orchestral symphonic black metal. It's also the band's first album to feature songs in native Norwegian since Stormblåst MMV back in 2005. Featuring the Bratislava Symphony Orchestra on select tracks and additional choir recorded at Propeller Studio in Oslo, this is Dimmu Borgir going for the jugular — and the heavens — at the same time.
