    MTDP Vol. 1: Diplomasi Telepon: Unlimited Call, Limited Transparency

    Kemajuan teknologi yang serba cepat dan mudah ternyata juga berdampak pada cara seorang kepala negara berdiplomasi. Prabowo Subianto, Presiden ke-8 Indonesia, telah melakukan 10 kali diplomasi telepon selama 9 bulan kepemimpinannya berdasarkan catatan Kompas. Meski menjadi efektif dan efisien, ada implikasi negatif yang mungkin terjadi bila dilakukan tanpa kehati-hatian, di antaranya adalah diplomasi sebagai panggung personal dan pergeseran kelembagaan Kemenlu.     MTDP #4 Saring Sebelum Sharing: Etika dan Realita Kebebasan Berpendapat dalam Media Sosial

    Kebebasan berpendapat di media sosial ibarat pedang bermata dua—di satu sisi memberikan ruang ekspresi, namun di sisi lain dapat menjadi sumber konflik. Dengan adanya regulasi seperti UU ITE, yang sering kali disebut sebagai "pasal karet," kebebasan ini dapat berubah menjadi ancaman jika tidak digunakan dengan bijak. Episode ini membahas bagaimana regulasi semacam ini memengaruhi cara kita berbicara di dunia maya, pentingnya menjaga etika dalam berbagi pendapat, dan bagaimana batas antara kebebasan berekspresi dan tanggung jawab seharusnya dijaga. Apakah kita benar-benar bebas untuk berbicara, atau justru terjebak dalam aturan yang bisa mengekang tanpa kita sadari?     MTDP #3 Seni sebagai Alat Diplomasi: Perjalanan Mas Anang Saptoto dan PARI Kolektif dalam Mengawal Isu-Isu Pangan dan Pertanian

    Diplomacy plays a crucial role in fostering international relations and achieving peaceful conflict resolution. One pivotal concept within diplomacy is multi-track diplomacy, where diverse actors including governments, non-governmental organizations, and individuals collaborate to address global challenges. Understanding this concept is essential for the public as it expands the scope of diplomatic efforts beyond governmental boundaries, encouraging broader participation to achieve inclusive and sustainable peacebuilding and conflict resolution. In this episode, our focus shifts to explore environmental practices that align with multi-track diplomacy, moving away from the traditional perception of diplomacy solely as the domain of governmental entities.  We are pleased to have Mas Anang Saptoto join us in this episode to discuss his role as a non-governmental actor practicing multi-track diplomacy. We will delve into the specific initiatives and strategies employed by Mas Anang to effectively contribute to global issues outside the conventional governmental framework.

    In a time when the fight against climate change has become really important, the world saw an exceptional event that showed how important young people are in leading the efforts to tackle global climate issues. In this episode, the Multi-Track Diplomacy Podcast from FPCI UGM came back with a topic called "From Zero to Hero: The Role of Youth in Climate Activism and Diplomacy." As the speaker of this episode, Kak Esther Tamara, a trailblazer in environmental advocacy and diplomacy, shared her wealth of experience and profound insights. Serving as the Director of the FPCI Climate Unit, Kak Tamara brought a unique blend of expertise to the discussion. The "From Zero to Hero" episode was a clarion call to action.     Indonesia proudly accepted the honor of serving as ASEAN Chairman for the year 2023 during the historic 42nd ASEAN Summit, which was held from May 9 to May 11, 2023. This historic occasion demonstrated Indonesia's influence and leadership on the world stage as well as its capacity to successfully handle both domestic and international pressures. The Multi-Track Diplomacy Podcast FPCI Chapter UGM has returned with an insightful and thought-provoking episode titled "Indonesia's Rise as ASEAN Chairman: A Journey of Growth," in recognition of the significance of Indonesia's chairmanship and its influence on ASEAN's trajectory. Our hosts will delve deeply into the many facets of Indonesia's rise to the position of ASEAN Chairman through this fascinating podcast. Our delighted speaker, Mrs. Yulida Nuraini Santoso, who serves as the managing director of the ASEAN Studies Center UGM and a renowned lecturer in the International Relations department in UGM, will share her expertise and perspectives during the episode.     Digital transformation has been set as this year's G20 agenda by the Indonesian presidency noting the trajectory of technological innovation and developments within the digital world. The pandemic has served as a momentum for the digital agenda to take flight in its adoption in many sectors of community life, from its integration within economic transactions, its shifts and proliferation of cultural ideas, and adoption in political agendas. However, despite the big political spotlight, there are still many issues needed to be addressed in order to further ensure the process of digital transformation. From issues like addressing the digital gap fostered by digital illiteracy, unequal digital infrastructure, cybersecurity resiliency, data protection, data sovereignty, models of electronic payments, to smart city concepts, we invite you to listen in to our talk with Professor Suhono Harso Supangkat as the Director of Smart Cities and Communities Innovation Center ITB, the Co-Chair of Taskforce 2 on the G20 Digitalization Team, and working Senior Advisor of Defense Industry and Policy Community Committee of the Ministry of Defense specializing in cybersecurity, as we discuss the on-going efforts the T20 has mobilized to create smarter societies and defining what it means to live smartly.

From alleged war crimes and genocide to the fate of international volunteers and paid mercenaries fighting in the front lines, and even on the developments of the Russia v Ukraine case in the International Court of Justice (ICJ), we invited you to listen in from the perspective of an international law academician. Join us, on this very important discussion with Mr. Fajri Matahati Muhammadin S.H., LL.M, Ph.D on how international humanitarian law is coping with recent issues in Ukraine on the possibilities of a humanitarian corridor in Mariupol and on one of Europe's biggest refugee crisis in the 21st century.

    On this occasion, we invited Veronica Ayu Pangestika as President of Girl Up UGM 2021 to talk about gender construction and pop culture in today’s society. All this time, most individuals have internalized social expectations and norms of gender construction to behave accordingly. Yet, it turns out that it could be oppressive and result in gender inequality. We also discuss several strands of feminism, and how ideas of gender are represented in mainstream entertainment.
