191: If Not Now, When? Moving Through Freeze Mode and Back Into Life

In this solo episode of Don’t Quit Your Daydream, I share something I did not plan to talk about, but something that shifted everything in me. After receiving devastating news in my community, I found myself in a place I know many of us have been in before. Shocked. Heavy. Disconnected. I went into what I can only describe as freeze mode. I could not move through my normal rhythm, and everything in me slowed down. And yet, in the middle of that stillness, something started to move in me. A wake up call to live the life that's here, now! Be more present, do the things, say yes to life... If not now, when? This episode is about what it means to wake back up to your life when grief, overwhelm, or emotional shutdown has taken over. It is not about pushing through or rushing healing. It is about slowly coming back to yourself and remembering that your life is still happening right now. In this episode we talk about: Moving through grief and emotional freeze modeWhy life has a way of waking us up through loss and changeLetting go of “someday” and starting where you areSimple ways to reconnect to your body and the present momentDecluttering your life, your space, and your energyComing back to presence, joy, and what actually mattersGentle nervous system tools like grounding, movement, breath, and humming to overcome the feeling of being stuck or frozen. If you have been feeling numb, stuck, or like you are just moving through the motions, this episode is a gentle reminder that you are still here. Your life is still here. And there is always a way back in. Here's to waking back up and going for your dreams! Enjoy! Erin has completed incredible challenges including a 100 mile race and epic hiking adventures around the world. Along the way she has also built a career helping women understand their bodies through nutrition, gut health, and hormone support. Erin shares how running first entered her life through a simple desire for community when her kids were young. What began as a way to make friends eventually became a lifelong practice that strengthened both her body and mindset. We talk about the mental resilience required for endurance running(and life), how visualization and self belief shape success, and why small consistent habits matter far more than perfection. Whether you are training for a race, chasing a dream, or simply trying to take better care of your health, this episode is a powerful reminder that progress happens one step at a time. Left foot, right foot. In This Episode We Talk AboutHow community can spark unexpected passionsThe mindset required for endurance runningWhy belief often matters more than disciplineHow visualization can prepare you for challengesWhat Erin learned from a major injury setbackThe connection between gut health and the nervous systemWhy consistency matters more than perfection in wellnessSimple habits that can transform your health over time Key Takeaways1. Big dreams happen one step at a time Whether you are running a mountain trail or pursuing a life goal, progress happens through small consistent actions. Break the big dream into smaller steps and celebrate the wins along the way. 2. Mindset shapes what we believe is possible Erin shares how repeating the mantra “I run fifty miles for fun” helped her believe she could complete her first 100 mile race. Our minds look for evidence to support what we believe. 3. Small habits create lasting health Instead of chasing perfection, focus on simple habits done consistently.
