    Witness Wednesday - Nancy Carol Willis - Trusting God When Life Breaks

Nancy Carroll Willis grew up in church, sang in the choir, did all the “right” things, and still walked away with a picture of God as a punisher instead of a Father who loves. What changed was not a motivational slogan or a perfect plan. It was a moment in Scripture that finally made the cost of the cross personal, and it rewired everything she believed about God’s heart toward her. Nancy takes us through the long road from adoption and feeling unwanted, to building a creative career on her own, to the shock of a terminal cancer diagnosis in her marriage. We also talk honestly about the damage of “name it and claim it” teaching, why suffering is not proof of weak faith, and how grief can either harden you or invite you into deeper trust. Her story includes a devastating stretch of loss, a “still small voice” asking her to trust, and the slow surrender that followed. Pastor Mark and Trevor Burrus Jr. open 2 Corinthians 5:1-10 and show how a clear view of eternity changes how we face pressure, persecution, and the slow grind of suffering.     S7E41 - Luke 18:31 - 19:10 - Revelation, Recognition & Rescue

    Send Us Your Questions/Comments Jesus tells the twelve exactly what will happen in Jerusalem, and they still cannot see it. That moment in Luke 18 hits hard because it exposes something we all carry: we can be near the truth, hear the words, and still miss the weight of what God is doing. We walk through Luke 18:31 to 19:10 using three anchors that shape the whole conversation: revelation, recognition, and rescue. First, Jesus reveals his mission with shocking clarity, tying his suffering, death, and resurrection to what the prophets promised. Then we watch recognition break through in Jericho when a blind beggar cries out “Son of David, have mercy on me” and refuses to be silenced by the crowd. Jesus stops, listens, and heals, showing a King who is powerful and interruptible, and reminding us that faith is not a volume contest but a persistent trust aimed at God’s glory. Finally, rescue gets personal with Zacchaeus. He climbs a tree just to get a glimpse, and Jesus calls his name, steps into his home, and sparks real repentance and restitution.     S7E40 - Luke 18:18-30 & 19:11-27 - The Rich Young Ruler & The Parable of the Talents

    Pastor Podcast - Psalm 19 - The God Who Speaks

    Send Us Your Questions/Comments God isn’t silent, and Psalm 19 refuses to let us pretend He is. We sit down for our Monday sermon reflection and talk through the weekend message from guest speaker Jonathan Noyes, whose background in Christian apologetics helps put words to what many of us feel: faith is not opposed to reason, and you don’t have to “check your brain at the door” to trust God. We walk through the three big movements of Psalm 19: God speaks through creation, God speaks through His Word, and God speaks through His Redeemer. From mountains and storms to DNA and the human body, creation “preaches” the glory of God and challenges both atheism and the quieter agnosticism that says, “Maybe there’s a God, but we can’t know Him.” Then we slow down in Psalm 19:7–11 to spotlight what Scripture does in real life: it revives the soul, makes us wise, rejoices the heart, enlightens the eyes, and warns us for our good.
