Love and Lust with the Relationship Boosters!

Send a text On this week’s episode of the Girl GOAT we focus on relationships and what true intimacy entails. When we hear the word “intimacy” we automatically correlate it with the sexual components of a romantic bond. While sex is an essential part of a union, the foundation should not be based on that alone.  Together with our very special guests, relationship experts: Mrs. Carol Ann, Mrs. Monica, and Dr. Kia James, we break down the essentials of a healthy relationship and what really should be binding us together with our significant other. If sex was out of the equation, what would tie the two of you together? Is the sexual connection that you have the only thing that is keeping you there? These are all very important questions that are addressed in this week’s episode. Maybe you have been wondering if your relationship with your boo is based on just sexual chemistry. Maybe you are in a marriage that is lacking the lust that you once had with your spouse. Or maybe you are single and want to be proactive of what to look for in a union and what to make sure you have enough of.  Whatever your situation, you don’t want to miss this one. I Am Enough

Send a text Understanding our true values, as individuals, is something that is often difficult to do.  Oftentimes our past hurts and struggles serve as a pivot toward how we view ourselves and drive home the critical nature of how society views us.  This is especially true for black women.  We are constantly told that we are too much and, even more often, we are told that we are simply not enough.  With that level of confusion circulating around us, it's no wonder that so many of us have feelings of inadequacy and insecurities.  We navigate through life with a false sense of who we are and a diminished feeling of power.   Of the many different populations in this country, Black women deal with the effects of that projection of decreased power and purpose at a much more alarming rate than other groups.  As the late Malcolm X stated, “The most disrespected person in America is the Black woman."  Well, we can add, most misunderstood, most underappreciated, most undervalued, and most overlooked.  These stigmas that exist in our society have crept into the hearts and minds of black women and have held us back from realizing and reaching our full potential.    Today’s episode is geared toward exploring the nagging question of “Am I enough?”.  Our special guest, Mr. Trey Carrion, brings a unique perspective, rooted in psychological and holistic aspects.  The clarity that is established during this episode is a breath of fresh air as we focus on the detriments of not understand and believing that we are enough.  Consequently, we learn that we must first adjust our thinking in order to adjust our crowns.  Podcast editor @thepodcastmaster Content Writer: Tameka Weaver Music: DeQuan Curry single I'M BACK     Support the show

    Transparency

Send a text Keeping it real is a phrase that we often use to describe how true we are to ourselves and to others.  We use it to express just how “real” we are being at the time.  However, we have to ask ourselves:  Are we REALLY living up to that phrase?  Transparency is something that is difficult for many of us.  We often hide behind the facades that we create to present the best version of ourselves to the outside world.  What we don’t realize is that we are only lying to ourselves.  There is so much fear in being transparent because it requires vulnerability.  That vulnerability is deeply rooted in being true to yourself about the correlations between your past and the present.  It is about being open to understanding our actions and thought processes and how are impactful that is to ourselves and the relationships we have with other people.  But why is it so difficult for us to take off our masks and shed our many protective layers?   What is it about our core that makes us want to hide ourselves? In this episode of Girl G.O.A.T., we are joined with Bree Williams, creator of Vibes of a Queen, as we analyze the importance of transparency and the effects that it has on our personal development and growth.  This episode is filled with authenticity, truth, and wisdom as we discern the ways that something that is viewed as weakness is actually rooted in strength.   Temeka "TWRITEs" Weaver @thepodcastmaster Musical Artist DeQuan Curry, I'M BACK  Support the show
