    Taulapapa and Felix break down this month's programs for our Fisheries! About the 207th Council Meeting The Western Pacific Regional Fishery Management Council holds its 207th Council Meeting June 9--11 at the Tauese P.F. Sunia Ocean Center in Utulei. This is the federal fisheries management body for the Western Pacific region, and this session includes several items directly affecting American Samoa -- including new bottomfish stock assessment results, updates to the Territorial Fishery Management Plan, South Pacific albacore allocation for our longline fleet, and the latest on deep-sea mining proposals near our waters. The meeting is open to the public in person and via remote participation at wpcouncil.org. Written comments on final action items are due by 5 PM Honolulu time on June 4 -- email info@wpcouncil.org. Oral comments are also accepted during the meeting. Entry is $50 per angler. This year features a special Bottomfish Spotlight alongside the mixed trolling categories. Entry forms and indemnity waivers are due Friday, June 5 at the Captain's Briefing (3--6 PM, Naumati Conference Room, Tradewinds Hotel).
