    Alias is identified as a word that is used to indicate that a named person is also known or more familiar under another specified name. In music, aliases can be used for a multitude of reasons include: signifying eras of an artist, creating a new identity of an artist or to develop/experiment with a new genre to their audience. Kendrick, Kanye, J. Cole and Pusha T are some of many artists that have aliases that they are commonly known as.     Has Mumble Rap overshadowed Lyricism in the Hip-hop Industry?

    Mumble Rap since its conception in the 2010s has been a prominent subgenre of Rap/Hip-Hop.  However, with any genre comes those who support or deny the genre. What is unique about mumble rap is its use of production to carry the track. On the opposite end of hip-hop, Lyricism has been the skeleton of the genre since its conception.  Many artists have made their mark in the industry including J.Cole, Kendrick Lamar, Tupac.. the list goes on.
