Episode 256 Being real about Small Business; Big Illness

In today's episode I bring on an incredibly strong, bad ass babe, Krystal Clark to share her journey into small buisness and what that really means if you are Canadian and happen to become ill. Krystal did all the right things she was supposed to do. She worked hard, she raised her kids and supported her husband at the time, she expanded her knowledge, she started her own business and was living life enjoying the fruits of her labor. But what happens if you are a small buisness owner and you all of a sudden become ill? Surely with all the taxes we pay as canadians there has to be SOMETHING when a small buisiness owner has to step away for care right? WRONG-O. Unless you pay into the EI system or have an emergency fund, there is NOTHING for you. Ziltch. NA-DA. Now imagine going through the most physical pain, mental anguish, an auto immune disease and basically have to suck that all the f**k up and work because WHOMST is paying while you recover OR just adjust to this new life with your medical condition. WHICH IS NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE for most disabled or ill individuals. SPECIALLY if they need their physical body like Krystal does, since she is currently an RMT. WHAT does this country do for those who chase their dreams of starting their own business? Absolutely nothing unless you've paid to play. WONDER what 40% of our taxes go.... not to these hard working small business owners. I will not get conspiratorial here but one has to wonder why small businesses are not being supported here in Canada. Now, not only does Krystal have to deal with auto immune she also has to be careful after a botched surgery and Canada is doing nothing but offering her dispare and YOU GUESSED IT ... MAIDS. (imagine my most ANGRY face here). Krystal explains how she navigated her entire journey through this and what she thinks small business owners in Canada should do to protect themselves if or when they become unable to support their own work as they heal. Do not ever give up babes, Krystal is living proof life is worth living, you are worthy of being here ❤️

Episode 255 Being real about Missing People Alberta Edition

In today’s episode, I am continuing the promised series about missing people of Canada. If you haven’t watched episode 250 for BC, please do so! Next month will be Saskatchewan 🙏🏼 I again bring 3 different stories on the show of those (at the time of recording) are still missing. I stick to facts I found online and tried to stay away from online perceptions. First I speak about Darius MacDougall. Darius was 6 years old at the time of his disappearance and went missing from Crowsnest Pass in Alberta while camping with his family. He has been missing since September 10th, 2025 and currently still missing. Darius was last seen wearing blue and grey sweater, a Grinch Christmas shirt, sweatpants, Paw Patrol shoes and his hair was cut short. Authorities are asking those recreating in the Crowsnest area to keep eyes out of any signs of Darius. Secondly, I speak about the disappearance of Angela Morningstar Alexis. Angela has been missing since August 17th, 2022 from the Edmonton area. Her uncle was the last to see her in August and she was reported missing a few weeks later after family members were getting increasingly worried of her whereabouts. Her family have worked tirelessly to get help finding her with little help so please screen shot her photo and keep it in an missing persons album 🙏🏼 Angela was last seen wearing black pants, a pink shirt, she is 5’6”, black/brown long hair, brown eyes and was 28 years old at the time of her disappearance. Finally I share the story of Issac Iwaasas who had been missing since November 2019. Issac had left his mother’s house in Lethbridge the night of the 17th of November to go back to Calgary and has not been found since. Issac’s disappearance has many twists and turns and a ton of unanswered questions as a few days after his disappearance his truck was found torched in Pemberton, BC - a place no one expected him to be. His family shared his story on Paramount + Never seen again S1 Episode 7, which I highly recommend watching this series too. Each one of these stories hits my heart in different and same ways. Each one has family they are missing and no answers. If you feel called to, please go look them up and screenshot pictures and keep those eyes up and aware for those missing Canadians. Join me next month for the next segment of Missing people 🇨🇦 Saskatchewan edition.
