    Jesus doesn't just invite us onto an easier path—he invites us onto a truer one. The wide road promises freedom but delivers destruction, while the narrow road asks more of us and gives us life in return. Along that road, our character shows up as fruit: visible, tasted, and felt by everyone around us. But none of it holds up—not our words, not our work, not even our miracles—unless it's built on the one foundation strong enough to bear the weight of real life: God's love. And that love isn't abstract. It comes down to a new command, simple enough to remember and hard enough to take a lifetime: love God, love others.

    We all have a natural talent for spotting flaws in others while somehow missing the plank in our own eye. But Jesus invites us to something better than sharper judgment—He invites us to clearer vision. When our eyes are truly healthy, our relationships start looking less like courtrooms and more like the Kingdom: full of grace, wisdom, and generosity. None of this happens on willpower alone, though. It only comes as we keep asking, seeking, and knocking, depending on a Father who delights to give good gifts to His children. The road that leads to life is narrow—but it's the only one worth walking.

    Sabbath Sunday 2026: A Holy Interruption

    We live in a world that is constantly competing for our attention. Without realizing it, what captures our attention begins to shape our hearts, our desires, and the way we live. Sabbath is God's invitation to step out of the noise and return to Him. It is more than a day off or a chance to catch up. It is an act of trust, a rhythm of reorientation, and an opportunity to remember that our lives are sustained not by our striving, but by God's faithful provision. As we slow down, we create space to notice what has been forming us, to surrender what has quietly claimed our hearts, and to allow God to reorder our lives according to His Kingdom. In this Sabbath Sunday teaching, we explore Isaiah 30:15 and discover how repentance, rest, quietness, and trust become the pathway to renewal. Together, we consider why Sabbath feels so countercultural, how distraction subtly shapes us, and why intentionally slowing down is essential to becoming the people God has created us to be. As you watch, our prayer is that this would not simply be another teaching to consume, but an invitation to pause, be present with God, and experience the freedom that comes from trusting Him more deeply.     Jesus doesn't just call us to a nice set of ideas — He calls us to a way of life, one radical enough that it should make the world around us stop and ask questions. Heavenly treasure isn't about what we accumulate; it's about loving God and loving people with everything we've been given. But here's the catch: our hearts can only truly go one direction at a time. The more we grip our "stuff," the less room we have for God — and the more we worry about tomorrow, the less capacity we have to seek His Kingdom today. Freedom starts when we let go of one so we can take hold of the other.

    "Practicing Righteousness" - Laurelyn Shaw | The Way That Leads to Life, Part 6

    Jesus never asked us to fake it for an audience—He invited us into something real. In the Sermon on the Mount, righteousness isn't a performance we put on for others; it's a character formed in the quiet, secret places where only the Father is watching. When we give, pray, and fast without needing anyone to notice, something beautiful happens: the spotlight shifts off of us, and the light of Christ shines through us instead. And as we practice this together—loving, forgiving, serving, showing mercy—we become a city on a hill, not because we're trying to earn our way into the Kingdom, but because we already belong to it. This is the invitation: less performance, more communion.
