Episode 02: What is Generational Trauma and How to Heal Your Family Tree

Episode 2 Generational Trauma and How to Heal   In this podcast episode, I break it all down: my story of how I came to be aware of my ancestral trauma, when I began planting seeds for healing my family tree, how things started to click into place, and how to start to heal it.    I discuss what is generational trauma based on a fantastic book on the subject that happened to come into my life at just the right time - It Didn't Start with You: How Inherited Family Trauma Shapes Who We Are and How to End the Cycle, written by clinical psychologist, Mark Wolynn. In it, he discusses how generational trauma can show up as symptoms in real life, he gives scientific research showing that trauma can be inherited, and additional research on what's happening at the cellular level.   Ultimately, the legacy of family trauma doesn't have to be one of suffering and despair, and with the right guidance, the right knowledge, it can be a legacy of strength and resilience.
